Let’s Talk About Persona 4 Arena’s Ending

By Spencer . August 10, 2012 . 6:30pm

Man, that part when… wait a second… did you finish Persona 4 Arena’s story mode?

(Insert dialogue box for Yu Narukami.)

-> Yeah, and I thought there would be more bear puns.

-> No, I guess I’ll go play it this weekend.

… you see Labrys’ storyline. Can’t shadow fighting androids get a break? Alright, we get it, Labrys has feelings and she wants to live life as a human girl, which was influenced by the memory implant from a young girl in a hospital. The characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4 are buddies now, but Persona 4 Arena’s story mode raised a bunch of new questions.

There’s a new case for the Investigation Team and Mitsuru’s group to solve – who is the Malevolent Entity? Whoever it is they managed to control Labrys from the outside, knew about the TV world, and enough about the Persona 4 characters to capture Rise. The Malevolent Entity is aware of shadows and the natures of personas too. My guess (and I’m probably totally wrong!) is Atlus is teasing the return of Persona series villain Nyarlathotep, but we’ll have to wait for the next game to find out.

That might be Persona 5 or another spin-off title with a canon storyline like Persona 4 Arena. It looks like Atlus could even make separate games with the Persona 3 and Persona 4 characters going on their own investigations.

I think the most interesting development is in Elizabeth’s storyline. She’s been wandering through people’s hearts and bringing Erebus, humanity’s cumulative negative energy, to the moon for a yearly beatdown. That was a nice bit of fan-service. At the end of her arc in Persona 4 Arena, Elizabeth gains the wild card potentially making her a new Persona protagonist. Her goal is pretty clear too, she wants to find a way to free the protagonist from Persona 3. I wonder if Atlus will actually pick up from Elizabeth’s scenario…

With teases of Persona 5 for like two years now, what do you think Atlus will do next with the cliffhangers from Persona 4 Arena? Who do you think the Malevolent Entity is? Would you buy a game with Elizabeth as the main character? What if it was a hanafuda game with tarot cards? Let’s discuss!

  • Chris Downes

I hope it’s a spin off with the main story line. Personally I dont want Persona 5 ALL about previous stuff, but like previous stuff as side characters. Do you get what I’m saying?

    • Could you please elaborate a bit more on what you mean?

      • Think hes saying he whants a new cast, while keeping the old cast as support characters instead of being the main focus.

or like the previous storys are part of the new story but aren’t the main focs(thet’re just a piece of a puzzle)

        Just guessing here though.

        • Chris Downes

You’re correct :) I couldn’t have said it better myself.

  • Daniel Morandi

Nyarlathotep!!! finally. No more wannabes Nyx or Izanagis. Give me a good villain, bring the true chaos.

    • LightZero

I agree with this. Nyar was the only good villain in this series although Kandori wasn’t that bad.

      • Daniel Morandi

But Kandori somehow was manipulated by Nyarlathotep, at least when he awake his Persona masacre at the final fight in Revelation Persona, then in P2 EP he appears once again and now he really is mapulated by Nyarlathotep.

Anyway i think your point is like we need another human antagonist in Persona that can use personas. Which I agree because is boring only fighting shadow and such, in P3 it was interesting to see strega group.

  • Know what would be absolutely awesome? If there was an Elizabeth spin-off that let people play as Elizabeth saving Minato or Theo saving Minako. I’d buy that SO fast. Maybe make that a portable RPG, and have Persona 5 be a PS3 sequel dealing with this new villain, male or female protagonists.

And there definitely needed to be more bear puns.

    • Rarutos

I agree, if they’re going to do a Persona 5, I’d much rather they do it with a brand new cast. If they want to branch off of the P4 Arena ending, they should just make a direct sequel or something that’s not called Persona 5.

  • Lunar_Outcast

Its Nyarlathotep. Rumors becoming reality was still in effect in P3/4.

And I’ve seen enough of the P3/4 cast, let some new kids take on Nyarly.

  • Wait what

Elizabeth didn’t get the Wild Card at the end of Persona 4 Arena, quite the opposite actually. She got her own Arcana, which was the Fool.

As for the villain, maybe it’s Nyarlathotep, maybe it’s not. I think people saying it definitely is are jumping to conclusions based on very little evidence, but it may very well be. He was never truly defeated, after all. But all we know is that he knows all about the P3/P4 cast and has some evil plan involving gathering strong Shadows to him. Not enough to say for sure either way.

I’d definitely like to see this followed up. It’ll probably happen in a sequel to Persona 4 Arena, not Persona 5.

    • Chris Pearson

False, the fool arcana is number 0 in the deck which means she is a wild card user, igor mentions it in every game, the number 0 empty yet has infinite possibilities. Also, I’m not sure if the secret boss battle with elizabeth in persona 3 is canon, but elizabeth and margaret were already wild card users since they are the ones who reside over power, and yes the hidden margaret boss battle is canon to the story, she tells yu about the boy that sacrificed everything at the sea of souls to become a great seal

  • Laith Rem

Considering they are going to Tatsumi Port Island, is probably another fighting game. That means, P3 characters added to the mix.

Also the Eerie Voice is most likely the guy that appears in both Naoto and Mitsuru’s stories, calling it now.

As an aside, Labrys story was my favorite (even tho it was so bittersweet ;_;) and score attack can go and suck in hell.

    • Xeawn

I almost cried during Labrys story, it was definitely my favorite!

      • Kevadu

I *did* cry.  I’m man enough to admit it.

        •  Very heart touching indeed. Who knew Labrys’ wish was somewhat fulfilled a decade later when Aigis met Minato~!

Also, that “Snowy” dog intrigued me.. Koromaru’s parent?

    •  Likely same entity that took on the form of other character’s Shadow, except Labrys’

      • Laith Rem

That would be the Mysterious Entity not the Eerie Voice. The difference is that the Eerie Voice appears on the Investigation Team storyline (sans Naoto) and is human while the Mysterious Entity appears on the Shadow Operatives and Naoto storylines and is clearly not human. Both are working together searching for the one true vessel, whatever that is.

  • OatMatadoQuatro

“Her goal is pretty clear too, she wants to find a way to free the protagonist from Persona 3.” Didn’t the Persona 3 protagonist die to become the Great Seal so that Nyx would not attack mankind? If his soul is saved then that huge monster would return too.
Yu also states that he wants to investigate the case despite Mitsuru’s denial to let the Investigation Team to get involved so it’s possible that he’ll return in a future game.

Also, Naoto makes a bear pun but nobody realizes it. I think one of the funniest parts was when Yu turns into the sister complex to Yosuke’s impression. “How dare you call her Nanako-chan!” Also, when Yu teases Chie in her story mode it’s almost as if Adachi has possessed him (just kidding, the have the same actor).

    • Kevadu

I’m guessing from your comment that you haven’t actually played Elizabeth’s story, or at least if you did you weren’t paying attention.  Her goal is quite clear.

Elizabeth wants to find a way to actually *destroy* Nyx, so Minato wouldn’t have to be there holding it back.

      • Ben Sylvia

Oh, well that works loads better than my plan.

      • Chris Pearson

Actually elizabeth is looking for a way to destroy erebus, since minato is the great seal she cannot actually get to nyx. Metis stated in P3 FES that nyx is neither good or evil and only acts on humanities greatest wish. Erebus is the combined hatred and negative emotions of all humans wishing for the fall

    • Ben Sylvia

That’s what Elizabeth is trying to change, P3rotagonist having to use his soul as a seal to prevent The Fall.

I mean one way could be to kill all the hum- oh.

  • doubletaco

“There’s a new case for the Investigation Team and Mitsuru’s group to solve – who is the Malevolent Entity?”

Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll all be wrapped up by Persona 4 Arena Continuum Shift II Extend XX#Reload Accent Core Plus-r Isuka.

    • Daniel Morandi

If there is a P2, Devil Summoner or another SMT cameo I will buy them all.

      • Arcm

I can only imagine how awesome Maya and Tatsuya would play hell Ulala as well we need a female boxer to match Akihiko.

  • Xeawn

I’m not one hundred percent sure I could get behind a game with Elizabeth as a main character unless it wasn’t set in the human world. Like, if her whole story took place in another world like Tartarus or the TV World I’d be down, but I just don’t know if her personality is enough to carry an entire game by itself.

I can think of some really nifty play mechanics that would make it interesting though. Personas could be collected like materials in a way since she should be able to fuse any persona she wants on her own. I think it’d be interesting if she was the MC, and she partnered with various other Persona 3 or Persona characters along the way, but each had to go for their own reasons after a while.

For some reason, I see a Persona game with an action style system being the number one way I could see an Elizabeth only game work.
As for another mashup of P3 and P4 characters in Persona 5, I don’t see why not. It made me uneasy for a while, but I realized that wasn’t because I had any issues with the idea itself. I realized it was because I love and enjoy getting to know the host of new characters that join your party and that you meet along the way, so it’s more that I’d be disappointed by not getting to know new friends. Unless of course the P3 and P4 people were separate or mixed teams with their own paths. Then it’d be easy to add new people.

t;l;dr, an Elizabeth game would be interesting.

  • OatMatadoQuatro

Shouldn’t these comments not be shown in recent comments? One minute ago I saw my comment there which could spoil the story

  • Where’s the “No, I live in Europe… :(” option? I have only spoiled myself Yu’s and Elizabeth’s stories.

  • Yeah, it was a WHAM~! Episode. Perhaps it is indeed true with his last words after being beaten by the P2 EP cast:

“…The masses of idiocy that squirm in the center of the cosmos are
yourselves! As long as you exist…SO TO SHALL I…!

    • LightZero

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprise if he manipulated Mitsuru’s grandfather and Ikutsuki. They acted like Kandori and Sudou. I wouldn’t even be shock if he arranged things to happen P4 as well.

      • Yeah, since you as well mentioned the Senior Kirijo and that back stabbing weasel Ikutsuki, some also speculated one of them could be the “Foolish Human” that the Malevolent Entity/Nyarlie babbled and lamented about as his accomplice till he gets a one true vessel.

Though both could be long dead and it could be one of the surviving/remaining Kirijo Ergo heads who could be the “Foolish human.”

      • ChromeOrihara

Apparently, there is a novelization of Persona 3 there suggests that Nyarlathotep was indeed the one who influenced Grandpa Kirijo to seek the Fall.

  • What if they just continue the story in another Arena game?

Maybe they could weave some super story to rope in Persona and Persona 2, connect the Persona series together then continue with Persona 5?
Ok then it will be hard for the Persona series to move forwards, even Power Rangers stop the continuity at a point :P

  • LightZero

The malevolent entity is definitely Nyarlathotep. They act very much alike. They loves being scumbags who get off on tormenting and manipulating others for his own amusement. If Nyar (and Philemon) returns then my interest in P5 is renewed.

    •  I was wondering also how did he resurfaced and become active again from dormancy? Perhaps it is because of mankind’s collective negative thoughts via Dark Hour and Midnight Channel that stirred him from his.. “Slumber”?

      • LightZero

You have to remember his last lines. That gives some indication that he would return one day. I do think he set up the Dark Hour and Midnight Channel as his back up plan.

  • Godmars

Careful. Atlus will literally send ninjas after you for posting spoilers.

    • Or Shabrys.

      • Godmars

So they’ll level the building you’re in – or near – as as soon as kill you?

        That is harsh…

  • scratchbach

I don’t know about P5 focusing on returning characters- I feel it should have a new cast. What I wouldn’t mind would be a Persona 4-2. Unrealistic, but I can dream!

    • P4-2… that is basically what P4…A/U is.

      • DarthSithZero

Lol now sounds like FF games X-2 , XIII-2

  • Alexander Aubert

i’m dying to know atlus, whatever you’re going to release to continue this story…. i’m gonna buy it

  • RmanX1000

What about the “Voice in the mind” that Labrys heard during her story? Could that possibly be Philemon??? I mean the game never explains who the voice is so its possible. And it would also add to the credibility of
    Nyarlathotep returning.

    •  Likely its Nyarlie also. He enticed Labrys with the promises that will fulfill her desires in her mind, and the last thing the same voice said is:

      “Everything is in readiness.”

Means it is all set to commence with the plan to regress the P3 and P4 casts’ Personas back into Shadows and recruit them as part of his army.

      • Daru Titor

         I don’t think that’s it.
He’s good at manipulating people and since he’s Philemon’s equal,
I don’t think he’d try making an army.

He’d probably find some poor sap to use as a pawn like he did Kandori or Jun.

    • Raiyu

I was under the impression that the Voice in her mind was the human with no persona.

  • Ryan Chiu

I would love a Persona game where they finally resolve the whole Elizabeth trying to free the protagonist from Persona 3. Elizabeth x P3 Protagonist GO!

  • AokiShizuku

Calling it now. Tatsuya makes a comeback and leads the P3/4 cast and kicks arse

    • LightZero

Well that would be kind of hard considering that side Tatsuya has no real memories of Persona. The other Tatsuya return to his world. Although they could always write some way to bring that Tatsuya back.

  • I just want to see the Proswagonist work his silent magic on Labrys.

  • Bentan

    new silent proswagonist please

  • Ethan_Twain

I certainly hope that Elizabeth going on an adventure to rescue the Persona 3 protagonist isn’t in our future!  First of all, I’ve never liked Elizabeth all that much as a character.  I can’t speak to her P4 Arena storyline yet, but in P3 she was not interesting to me.  There was no conflict internal or external for her to overcome, her connection to the velvet room was ambiguous at best, and she wasn’t even a party member.  It was possible to miss out on almost all her content by complete accident.

Secondly, I really don’t wanna see the protagonist of Persona 3 come back.  Persona 3 was special, in my mind, largely because it intelligently embraced some dark material both thematically and in the plot.  When you die it’s a statement about hubris, selfishness, and also an absolute resolution to the story at hand.  The suicidal imagery through that game was absolutely leading to that resolution, the entire thing fit together really well.

But now… what on earth is this?  First of all, Persona 3 Portable made Shinjiro’s death iffy.  Made it possible that he would not die.  Persona 3 FES added an epilogue where it’s explained “You didn’t REALLY die… you’re just in some sort of dimensional seal.  And now Elizabeth is off to bring the protagonist back to life again.  What is this, Kingdom Hearts?  I liked Persona more when characters died (like, permanently), connections between games were kept to a minimum, and endings weren’t always happy.

    • …….

    • Quinton Cunningham

“First of all, Persona 3 Portable made Shinjiro’s death iffy.  Made it possible that he would not die.”

Only in the most likely non-canon female route. Note how Akihiko is STILL saying “Did you see that Shinji?” in P4A. So yeah, his death is canon.

“Persona 3 FES added an epilogue where it’s explained “You didn’t REALLY die… you’re just in some sort of dimensional seal.”

Persona 3 NEVER said the Protagonist died. Ever. It was very vague, at best. FES stated flat-out that he died in the intro segment.

Finally, the metaphors at play in P3 pretty much hinted that his revival would happen. Take a look Protag’s ult Persona. It’s Messiah, and his description reads: “Appears before Judgment Day to save the virtuous. He is a universal figure, appearing in myths around the world. Many stories involve his death and rebirth.”

      Death AND REBIRTH.

We have seen Protag’s death already. If his role as a messiah in P3 is anything to go by, his rebirth is inevitable.

      • Whoa wait, when does Akihiko says that? Is it one of his victory quotes (again)?

        • Quinton Cunningham

Yes indeedy. He doesn’t yell it like he used to. He says it really quietly.

    • JazzWithAttitude

Dude even if you save Shinjiro in the moon event he will die because of the pills anyways!
      Why no one remember that?

  • Testsubject909

A Persona game with a silent character aided directly by Elizabeth, possibly a party member, with the typical aid of the denizens of the Velvet Room, fighting against Nyarlathotep with the return of Philemon for whatever goal would be interesting, but aside from those things, I’d rather just be pleasantly surprised by Atlus rather then spout concepts out in the air.

edit: Fun as it is, my mind’s just not up for it right now.

  • Crimson_Cloud

What I really wish for Persona 5 is that they give us a bit more mature gang. Possibly collage this time around. Some returning characters like Mitsuru would be awesome as well.

    • LynxAmali

I’d actually like them to bring back some of the old cast. And by old cast, I mean pre-P3. I’m not even sure they’re in the same cannon though.

I’d just want to see all 4 protags in the same game as well as Phil again (considering Igor’s va….y’know..passed away.)

And then starting off fresh with the next game, assuming they continue on with the series.

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

They should be in the same cannon seeing as how in P3 / P3P you could learn tidbits of how P1/P2:IS/P2:EP’s cast were doing from the TV show that plays at SEES HQ~.

      • LightZero

P3/P4 takes place in the same world as EP. They just take place 10 to 12 years after P2. So the P1 and P2 cast would be around their 30s with Baofu being in his 40s.

  • Crok425

    1) I seriously don’t have a clue. Atlus is very known for being a troll company… you can’t speculate and then being right, they can screw up your theories.

    2) Probably Nyarly. Although he already had a title before as ”The Crawling Chaos” so I don’t exactly know. Nyarly is the main antagonist of Persona (putting aside the final bosses of the other Persoan games but Persona 2). I actually thought of Nyarly creating the troubles of P3 and P4 (he already did stuff in P1), making Mitsuru’s grandpa a maniac, the same way as Ikutsuki. And in P4… I don’t know, he could’ve created Izanami just to troll people.

    3) I would… I just hope it doesn’t ends up in a cliffhanger again.

    4) … Well… Persona Poker?

    And yes, I have a lot of free time… -_-… and no, I haven’t finished P4A, yet.

    • “Atlus is very known for being a troll company” LOL!! very true..

    • As a Lovecraft fan, I’m not sure how I feel about one of his major gods being appropriated like this.

  • Alexander Aubert

do anyone else here can think any villians who can control humans in persona?
why, did i ask? remember the hijackers?

  • Yong David

Hope for super-buff up Persona monster called Ragnarok not in any of the Persona series and Elizabeth to return for Persona 5 the game asap.

  • yoUNg_grOUp568

I would rather have a spin-off title than have this lead to persona 5. When i play persona i love being able to be a highschooler and go to school, do tests, clubs, meet people and do all this other stuff persona is known for. But if they take this route than i feel has  though it won’t the complete Persona experience i would enjoy. They could keep rpg style, but i would rather have them make a spin-off

    • JazzWithAttitude

Same here,i want Persona 5 just like Persona 4 as for me after Persona 3
Buuuut i need see how this story ends :D

    • LightZero

P5 is going to be what P3 was to P1/P2 as far as gameplay goes. So you shouldn’t expect them to make it like P3/P4. Honestly I hope they go back to the P1/P2 style. The social sims experience lost its novelty.

      • yoUNg_grOUp568

i never really liked p1 and p2. i liked p3/p4 better and hope they make it like that

  • iveriad

Looking back at Blazblue and Guilty Gear…..I think that’s just how Arc roll.
Making cliffhanger endings again and again.

    • Niles Schwarz

They didn’t do the story. The story was all Atlus.

  • Got my question answered

    • Quinton Cunningham

“at the end of persona 3 FES…”

In Persona 4, Margaret said that Elizabeth is looking for a way to free “the blue-haired boy”

      • Right, i confused some things up

    • Laith Rem

Which is why she is searching for a why to free him without screwing humanity up. She says it herself on her story mode.

  • After reading this, only one thing comes to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfawau30Olk

  • vileBrenman

I think that in persona 5 you will play as a new protagonist that is inlisted by mitsuru to join shadow ops then the story insues with finding the real culprit behind the labrys kidnapping i alsi bet elizabeth will make a guet appearance

  • Haven’t beaten any of the stories yet but witch ones is the most important so I could start with them?

    • Laith Rem

All the stories have the same importance. The events change so the character you are playing as is the ‘main character.’ However, you can’t finish them until you see Labrys’ story mode.

You unlock it by finishing one of the first four stories, then one of the remaining P4 cast, then another of the P3 cast.

Personally, I think you could go Yu -> Naoto(for the world view)/Teddie(For Labrys) -> Aigis -> Labrys.

  • diz1776

    Mr. Edogawa= Nyarlathotep
He’s the mastermind. I mean he was one of the scientists who created the Labrys.
He knows so much about the nature of the universe for it to be more than just a coincidence.

    • Daru Titor

That and the fact he uses strange medicine.
I wonder if he’ll appear as his own persona
      like he did in P2IS.

  • ZBaksh386

    I rather P5 be about a new cast and a new villian/problem.

    • Daniel Morandi

This!! except that I really want Nyarlathotep again but he could appear supporting the new villain or something like that. What I don’t want is to see the old cast, Minato, Elizabeth, etc. stealing the show. The main conflict and problems should be totally new.

      • ZBaksh386

they could relegated to DLC, background status or given another spinoff like P5 crossroads.

      • Mr_SP

I agree. However, I wouldn’t disapprove of Minato’s restoration being an element of a new plot, that assists in the fight with the True Enemy, or whatever. That is, with the main conflict being, well, bigger than that.

But that’s not really how Persona works.

  • Daniel Morandi

Will Elizabeth meet her creator? could he be the key to free Minato? would this cast or new cast of character face him?

    Im talking about Philenom:

  • Eh, I’m hoping for DLC or a sequel, but I’d take the manga just continuing from where Arena leaves off since they’re doing a manga of Arena. Heck, I’d hope they’d turn that into an OVA for the anime eventually.

    • OatMatadoQuatro

You know, considering that Persona 3 is getting its own anime film next year, it would not be weird that Atlus decides to end the storyline of Persona Arena in the form of another film since 4 already has an anime.

Maybe most of the cast from Persona 3 and 4 reunite to end the new conflict. With that Persona 5 could start without depending on the other stories.

  • John Lawson

knowing Aksys, they’ll just re-release this game with two more characters and updated storyline next year (like Blazblue)

    • Arc system works and ATLUS not Aksys.(so probably not)

    • SteveThompson1

Yea, I’d get your facts straight. Its Atlus not Aksys

  • klkAlexar

They promised us a complete departure from P3/P4 for P5 and I’m expecting them to fulfill that promise, and that includes no recurring cast(except for a very small cameo). But if they did a gaiden with Elizabeth or that new boss then it would be okay with me.

  • Rol

I’m calling it now.  They need a replacement for Igor in Japan, seeing as the actor who played him in Japan passed away, so I see it going this way:

After Elizabeth rescues Minato, he becomes the new “benefactor” of the Velvet Room in all future Persona games.   From silent protagonist to “Welcome to the Velvet Room….”

    • TornZero

He was never very silent for me. Whenever I use a skill he screams like Link. xD

  • Michael Joseph

Did anyone notices the Shadow Operatives silhouettes were that of many previous persona characters???  Like Junpei (p3) and Kei Nanjo (p1)?

    • Locklear93

I definitely noticed Junpei.  Man, I wouldn’t have let THAT guy in. <_<

    • Ty Arnold

And the guy with the cowlick has to be Eikichi. Couldn’t be anyone else, really.

  • daniel cuturrufo

My guess is that they are going to make a second game that puts an end to the spinoff story. Maybe happening at a place similar to Tartarus and presenting us more P3 characters.

I support the Niarly theory. His way of speaking, how he manipulates others, it all’s like him.

By the way, the Malevolent Entity is working with a human who doesn’t have a Persona, and they are shown in different endings from different characters. He even says something like “I still need to put up with that small human”, hinting that the Malevolent Entity may not like working with him.

  • 二ガーズ イン パリス

what happens if you signal to Kanji at the end?

    • Austin Taylor

“I stare at Kanji for a moment, but he just blushes and turns away. *Sigh* I signal to Yoskue and after a moment, he gets my intentions.”

Or something like that. None of the choices as Yu matter. Slightly different wording, but with the same outcome.

  • yoUNg_grOUp568

After doing a bit of research i start to think of something new. What if this game doesn’t lead into anything?

    *SPOILERS* for persona 4 golden

In persona 4 golden they added a new epilogue to the true ending where Yu returns to inaba one-year later assuming he is going to stay this time or maybe it’s just for summer break. Maybe they did the task already or it never happened. they never seem to mention the events that take place after P4 arena. This is just my opinion on everything , but i could be wrong

    • Austin Taylor

      Whoops, wrong reply.

      *Maybe SPOILERS?*

But, see above. Yosuke mentions it in passing. Which is nice for the peeps who will not have played Arena yet.

I hope it’s to stay, leading to a more real sequel to P4, but good lord, I hope they fix Kanji.

I think kanji just needs some time to get used to. But for evryone else i love how they look espically rise. She looks more like a superstar now, i love it.

      • i just looked up the epilogue specifically because of this comment, and i think new Kanji is really cute! i wish his hair was edgier, though. new teddie is especially cute as well. well, everyone is. lol.

Frankly, I see P5 being a new conflict of sorts, but anything could happen. I would love a P3-2 or P4-2. Such great characters, I can’t help but become attached. I’ve already started a manuscript for such scenarios, seeing as they probably won’t happen. As far as Elizabeth, I see her story being told over a few games, a chapter per game, or something along those lines. But again, Atlus will do what they want.

Apparently P4G’s true ending makes reference to “those busy days in May,” so Arena should have some kind of mini follow up. Something that only takes a few days, but still. My guess is DLC at this point, but if they did another full game… I would not be sad. TAKE MY MONEY ATLUS, TAKE IT ALL.

I might not be the best person to make guesses… since this is my first Persona game ever. * did pick up P3P and reserved P4G right after playing some of this game. The story and the world facinates me.

That being said, I would LIKE Atlus to keep this canon, and reference this in future games. However, P5 should have a new cast of characters, and only with cameo’s or by the end they start to meet the older cast members. They shouldn’t be playable either, they should just bump into them and maybe fight along side. P5 may not even finish this story, but just add more to it.

  • Persona 3/4 -2 please!!! there has to be something that they have up their sleeves. they wouldnt rile up fans of the series like this with no reward, would they? If P4 Golden wasnt complete, i would even guess that theyd make an epilogue story that takes place after p4:arena, but its a tad late for that.

I just got 99% on the Story Mode today. How’d you guys finish so fast?…
Anyways, I found Labrys’ and Elizabeth’s stories to be very interesting. Though, with all the new questions that their stories raised, there are lots of unanswered things that I wanted answered in this game, and not the next Persona game.
    I didn’t feel much closure with everything…

  • here’s the song title for persona 5 that could be saying nyarlathotep is the next antagonist  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=delV-38pJ6w&feature=channel&list=UL

Well, Labrys is most likely going to get involved. And if she is there, Aigis is bound to be there. And Yu isn’t going to let the Shadow Operatives hog all the action to themselves. And since the two Wild Card users will be involved, Elizabeth would most probably join in the fun. And I highly doubt the Investigation Team and the Shadow Operatives will be at each others’ throats, since they have a common goal. Mitsuru already knows what they’re up to (in her story mode) and she doesn’t seem too irritated about that.

  • I don’t think P5 will be about the P3 and P4 characters again. I remember hearing somewhere that it was stated P5 would be a standalone game with a new cast of characters. I figure the questions that came up in P4A will be answered either in DLC or, more likely, a sequel fighting game.

And I’d love to see the rest of Elizabeth’s storyline, too. I’m thinking it might be brought up again in a sequel to P4A, but with all the talk of bonds in her story, I’d like to see a separate RPG for her with social links. I figure it wouldn’t be a console game if they went that route. It’d probably be on the Vita or something.
