Prepare To Die Again In Dark Souls’ Untold Chapter

By Spencer . August 14, 2012 . 1:44pm

Namco Bandai’s updated version of Dark Souls for PC includes a new quest where players are sent into the past when Knight Artorias was alive. And then, you’ll fight him as Artorias of the Abyss. He’s one of the new bosses in Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. FromSoftware also made new areas like the Oolacile Tomb and created new enemies like the Abyss Guard and Chained Prisoner.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition comes out for PC later this month. If you already own Dark Souls for PS3 or Xbox 360 you can get the additional content this winter when Namco Bandai releases the Artorias of the Abyss DLC pack.

Can there ever be one NPC who didn’t turn out to be corrupted and twisted?

But then it wouldn’t go along Souls tradition up to this point anymore. XD Everybody’s southbound from the start; the only question is “When?”.

    • Xerain

I’ve yet to find anything corrupt or Twisted about Dusk of Oolacile, but maybe this DLC will change that.

is the pc version Download only?

    OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Göran Isacson

Kinda curious if you can “kill” him in the past, or if you’ll just run away/he runs away.

Well… time itself is screwed up in Dark Souls. You meet several people from different periods. Solaire, a npc you meet in near the beginning of the game, tells you that time is messed up and gives you a item to help other beings, other players, from a different part of time; aka the white soap stone which lets you go co-op.

You think so? I’ve always thought that besides all the mysteries regarding the characters in the Dark Souls universe, the time line was pretty stable. You make a great point though.

This looks badass. I don’t know why but Artorias looks more intimidating than any other boss I’ve faced in the game. Here’s hoping that this DLC answers all the questions I have about the mysterious Artorias.

OMG! I’d get this in a heartbeat!

If I can find a copy here, that is.

EDIT: I’ve read somewhere that this is going to be download only. Is this true? If so, then I’d be getting a copy sooner than I thought. :)

I hope we can loot Artoria’s armor :L

    • Domii

I hope so too, although my sunlight armor+10 is badass. Still, Artorias’ equipment looks fucking awesome.

It´s on Steam at least. I don´t know if there´s gonna be a physical package version.
