The Proof of Life system sounds awesome, and I wish they could actually implement some of those leftover ideas because that’s much closer to the ideal of “Your actions have consequences” than most games (especially those that flaunt that as a feature) ever reach.

Can’t wait for it, haven’t played one of these before but it’s clear a lot of love goes into them.

too bad they have to gived up some cool things but still i think this game  still good as always i think they need a married system for way of the samurai i have way of the samurai 1-3 and there have no married system or assassinate people

I’m surprised that more devs haven’t yet tried to copy Demon’s Souls online system.Lots of respect to them for aknowledging where they got their inspiration from. The wandering Samurai sounds like a very cool feature that really fits with the concept of the game.I would be curious to learn more details about it.

I hope they will continue developing Japanese-centric games as well as publishing them in the west.I’m afraid that these kind of games will be a dying breed in a few years at least in the console market.

I do hope they implement the unused ideas in the next game, because they sound really fund and add a new level of “your action have consequences”.

The idea where your love child can come back to assassinate you if you don’t get married is pretty out there and that’s what I like about Acquire. I hope we’ll see Way of the Samurai 5 one day… we’re always trying to talk about the WOTS series on Siliconera so I hope someone out there on the Internet is listening!

Where this Inbox so I can request for Way of Samurai 5? Granted, I’ve never heard about the Way of Samurai games until siliconera mentioned it, starting with Way of Samurai 4 and I plan to get it now.

Did the other WOTS game come out overseas? I’ve seen WOTS3 for Xbox on a GameStop store.

I’m starting to get into this series… and I love Japanese-theme games like these. ^_^

Plus it would be cool to reconcile with your love child to apologize to the mother and form a bond with them… to repent for your actions. Is it only male Samurais only? Well given the time time period and views during that era, were female Samurais that rare?

I guess you can go to spike-chunsoft.com to e-mail them. All of the other games came out. Capcom actually brought over WOTS2, but the PSP ports didn’t make it over.

i like that idea too and i wonder if they add something if you got married

I just got the best ending in Way of the Samurai 3. I can say that this is a very fun series, and I’m excited that we have another one coming.

Awesome, thanks a lot Siliconera. :D

This is strangely appealing to me. I’ve never played any of the other Way of the Samurais, I might pick this one up to get a feel of the series.

I cannot stress how amazing this series is. I always thought of it as a “choose your own adventure” type game, where a single playthrough can take ten minutes to a few hours, but you can play a hundred times and it will always be a different game.

Never played any way of the samurai games before… but this looks interesting to me too!
