Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney Is In The Final Stages Of Development

By Spencer . August 20, 2012 . 2:50pm

07_2While talking about the Ace Attorney flick, Shu Takumi gave Famitsu a little update about Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. Takumi said the game is in the final stage of development and he’s concentrating on creating the project.  Takumi also told the magazine Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney is progressing smoothly, but he can’t say much more at the moment.

Level-5 is developing Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney with Capcom. Siliconera is one of the few sites that actually got to play the game. Check out our impressions of a case where Phoenix defends a girl accused of witchcraft.

Oh man, this game is going to be sweet!

  • kylehyde

Well is good to hear that, however for us in the west will be really lucky if this game gets published before the end of the 2013.

  • I promised myself I wouldn’t get excited until we hear the words “localisation approved”… It’s getting hard.

  • Hooo? So this and project cross zone have my attention localization wise, so does Bravely default…

  • tha_Chiller

just want to hear the word…”localization”

  • Please get localized, please get localized, PLEASE get localized >_<

  • SirRichard

It’s coming soon, I take it. And just remember, fellas; odds are, the localisation won’t be announced or considered for being announced until the game actually releases in Japan, and then they can focus on it. And both Level-5 and Capcom have been making themselves very busy as of late, too.

  • Final stages of development, then first stage of localization?  I certainly hope Capcpom considers it or Ninty takes notice of their marketable Professor’s crossover antics.

  • Tales_of_Master

Defiantly would love to see this localized……but I’m still more interested in hearing news about Ace Attorney 5. Also, I’m still waiting for Investigation 2 to be localized.

  • Eliézer Dos Santos

Sometimes I completely forget this game.

  • MrJechgo

If Level-5 is in charge, then there’s a high chance of localization… as long as they pick Sam Riegel for Phoenix, just like in UMvC3.

  • Finally!
    Please localize this Level-5!

  • Zoozbuh

Wait what? For some reason I thought this had already been released in Japan .___. But god yes, this MUST be localized or I will lose all faith in Capcom.

    • Zoozbuh

       *Capcom/Level-5 – whoever is/ends up publishing the game :’)

  • Luis Camargo

This week is being brought to you by “Have patience and wait until this games launches”.

First TWEWY2 supposed announcement. Now Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney news are inbound. What’s next ? Skies of Arcadia 2 ? Final Fantasy Tactics 2 ?

    Keep them coming I say.

  • Izzy Miyake

Was I the only one that thought this game was already released and just never made it over here?

That and I blame all the people who R4’d the Phoenix Wright titles if we don’t get this and Attorney Investigations 2.

    • ThatBlackGuy

If it makes it any better I went and bought them.

  • RadShiro

Level-5 loves us, but Capcom hates us.

Hopefully Level-5’s power of love is strong enough to get this localized.

  • I’m really hoping that this will get a Western release. :)  I agree with everyone. It’s best not to get my hopes up too much and I will very, very happy when I will hear the sentence “Western release- XX month”

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    I forgot about this

  • LustEnvy

This is a system seller for me. Localize this, and I’ll jump on the 3DS XL.

    • Zoozbuh

       ^ This.

  • Zonic505

While I hope for a localization (who isn’t?!), I seriously wanna see some new footage of this.

  • ChromeOrihara

Wait, by flick, do you mean that there is going to be an Ace Attorney movie? Anyway,I sure hope Level-5 will localize this.

    • Vyrus

There was already an Ace Attorney movie.
