Mirror War Is A Brilliant Blend Of Bullet Hell And World Of Warcraft

By Spencer . August 24, 2012 . 1:32pm

Logic Korea designed a game that fuses my two favorite genres. Mirror War: Resurrection is essentially the progeny of a Cave shooter and a MMORPG.

Giant bosses. Fantasy setting. High speed shooting. Where do I sign up? Oh wait, Mirror War: Resurrection is only for South Korea right now. Bummer. Perhaps, a MMORPG publisher somewhere out there will pick this up.

    I would so play this.

Bit odd that this has to be an MMO.

Could probably sell an idea like this as a base SHMUP with additional full “campaigns” and make more money.

For everyone’s sake I hope the netcode is up to snuff, otherwise this is just gonna be a pichuunfest.

I don’t know if anyone remembers an MMO called Valkyrie Sky. It was basically a shmup MMO that was shut down a couple years ago. It was interesting, but lacked customization and was really slow at levelling. I’m glad somebody decided to make a shmuppy MMO again. It’s a really good mix, I’m telling you!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that remembers VS. It’s one of the truly unique concepts that has been sadly forgotten as a result of publisher/parent company mismanagement.

I regret having not spent more time with it, even if it was just playing the fishing minigame while waiting for nighttime to end. It was one of those games where one day I went back to check on it, and it was just… Gone.

Here’s hoping Mirror War can get a good localization one day.

  • remember when this was called Valkyrie Sky… anyone?

Seriously… looks identical. Which is good, because I was extremely sad when Valkyrie Sky servers went down.

  • Wagnaria

    This is nice.
But IMO they should have just made the graphics more anime-inspired with Moe Girls like in Touhou or change the idea into chicks on spaceships (characters are either free or must be unlock). Games with those kinds of features [for some reasons] has great grip on staying alive for years. (=u=;)

sorry my korean is pretty bad but how this is an MMO how exactly?

LOL, some idiots doesn’t understand that, Bullet-Hell doesn’t need to be MMO or Pay-to-Win, srsly i’m not gonna play P2W Bullet-Hell games

  • Ricewarrior

Just hope you don’t start lagging.

  • onRAWR
