Xbox 360 Shooter Ginga Force Is Region Free

By Spencer . August 27, 2012 . 12:37pm

imageHey shooter fans, you can import Ginga Force! Qute Corporation announced Ginga Force just like their first Xbox 360 shooter, Eschatos, is region free.

Ginga Force has a customizable weapon system with either a front shot, piercing laser, or wide wave as your main weapon. You can also select wide shot, cross shot (diagonal fire for front and back) or option bit (two gunpods) as a side weapon. If you haven’t seen Ginga Force before, check out this trailer.

A tip of the hat and omni-directional shield (one of the shield options in Ginga Force) to Luis for sending an e-mail. Thanks!

Now, that’s interesting.  I take my comment back from the SDOJ article.  I thought MS was discouraging region-freeness for newer 360 games from Japan.

    • Tom_Phoenix

AFAIK, a region free license is more expensive than a Japan-only license. If that is the case, then Microsoft DOES discourage region free games in a sense.

Yeah this whole RF thing is weird, maybe it’s just MS been fickle again.

They do seem to change their policy like I change my underwear

Props to game companies for making region-free games so gamers can import. I’ll definitely have to keep a closer eye on this now.

    One word.

Don’t know that much about this game but will check it out and possibly add it to my list of imports I want to get next time I go to Japan.
More region free games are always welcome regardless.  Especially if the game doesn’t have a hope for a international release.  *Glares at Idolmaster 360 games*

Good to hear, I’m looking forward to seeing more footage of just how the game plays out as a whole. Not wild about the 3D sections, but the game as a whole looks like it could be really fun, also really reminiscent of Dreamcast shumps for some reason owo; But regional free makes the game a whole lot more accessible which is nice~

  • All those emails and twitter begging paid off. Y’all can thank me by buying a copy!

Cool news.  I think Eschatos is great, so I can’t wait to play the follow-up.  And oh, that music from the launch trailer – love it!

Decent amount of shooter news lately with this and Saidaioujou.  Proving again that despite reports of its demise, the shooter genre can’t be killed quite so easily!!

    • Aoshi00

Yeah, love the old school soundtrack for Eschatos, it’s like Megaman music, simple but awesome.  Hooray for this being region free and Saidaioujou…
