Akai Katana Brings More Bullet Hell To Games On Demand

By Spencer . August 28, 2012 . 3:34pm

akaiAkai Katana is setting next to Deathsmiles IIx in the Games on Demand section of Xbox Live. Rising Star Games re-released Cave’s shooter as a $24.99 digital download.

Akai Katana was originally $39.99, but it looks like it’s under $20 bucks now. Amazon is selling it for $17, a great deal if you like horizontal shooters where fighter planes transform into samurai.

    Not nearly as exciting an announcement as Deathsmiles II, since Akai Katana actually got an official localization (and DSII was, until the GoD release, a region-locked Japan exclusive).

    But still… more shooter news along with recent Saidaioujou and Ginga Force news.  Doing pretty well for a “dead genre”!

       and Ginga Force was announced as region free yesterday *flails hands in joy*

      Yeahh, Deathsmiles II was a different case though uwu;; Still good to see Cave/Rising Star are making an effort to get Akai Katana out there. Even if grabbing the disc release is definitely the better option~ But yeah some great shmup news lately with >w<;
