imageSoon Summon Night fans will be able to play five Summon Night games on PSP. Summon Night, the PsOne game that started the strategy RPG series, is already available as a PsOne Classic in Japan. Summon Night 2 just came out today.

To get more people into the Summon Night series, Namco Bandai cut the price of both games to 300 yen ($3.80) as a launch promotion. The two Summon Night games will cost 600 yen ($7.60) after September 26.

  • That’s incredibly cheap and more than worth it.

A fangirl of the Summon Night: Swordcraft Story series demands a game for 3ds.

This is a textbook example of how to revitalize a niche franchise, between the extremely cheap old entries on PSN, the PSP remakes and the new game Summon Night really has a chance to recover, even if it will never be a big seller.

Gosh, I’d do anything to see these get localized. I know that sounds crazy and it’ll never happen, but it would just make my forever. I got a lot of passion for Summon Knight, and I’m not even sure why. Those few games we got from the series just charmed the pants off of me.

I even checked the XSEED Games message board to see if anyone had made a thread about it in their suggestions forum. I didn’t see anything, thought about making a thread myself, but I dunno. Maybe later.

XSEED! MonkeyPaw! One of you guys, bring Summon Night over! Make it happen!

Ugh, Namco Bandai, stop teasing us with Summon Night, only to deliver more Dragonball and Naruto!

If you *really* want to grow any niche fanbase to the size of Dragonball’s, then please spend more marketing money and while you’re at it, port the entire franchise to iOS or Android!
