Yakuza 5’s Baseball Player Fights Best With A Bat, But Can Slam Enemies Into Walls Too

By Spencer . September 7, 2012 . 3:48am

Sega’s newcomer in Yakuza 5, Tatsuo Shinada, is an ex-baseball player. He shows his true power in a fight when you grab a baseball bat or another cylindrical object.

Shinada can put all of his strength into Meteor Tackle his powerful zetsugi attack.

When Shinada isn’t armed he can grapple enemies and knock them over with a sliding kick.

    Huh, I’m sure you posted this article a couple of weeks ago?

    “When Shinada isn’t armed he can grapple enemies….”
    note to self, make sure to have weps with Shinada when fighting boss’s
    boss’s in Yakuza can not be grapple and it was a pain in 4 when you had to fight boss’s with a grapple fighter.

      they can be grapples, the timing for it is normally after you 3rd or 4th squre combo strike, 2nd triangle chain or spam circle really well

  • Does anyone else notice Shinada’s dressed up like Ryo from Shenmue?

  • I believe there’s an error in this article;
    Shinada may be an ex-baseball player, but he still carries respect for the sport, and does not believe a baseball bat should be used as a weapon. I believe he’s unable to pick up bats, should they appear, but he’ll swing any cyclindrical weapon—such as the flatstaff above—in a baseball player’s fashion.
