This Week In Imports: Tekken Takes Over

By Spencer . September 10, 2012 . 3:55pm

imageTekken Tag Tournament 2′s worldwide launch is this week. Namco Bandai is pushing it in the West by mentioning the Snoop Dogg (or is it Snoop Lion?) collaboration. In Japan, the crossover costumes from famous manga artists take the spotlight. Also interesting to note that Paul Phoenix is only on Japan’s cover and Namco Bandai is not releasing the "We Are Tekken" edition in the region.

Namco Bandai will also release the first Accel World video game and Medabots 7 comes out in two flavors for the 3DS.

    Lol, Snoop Lion

Well, they are hunters, so I reckon they can technically snoop/sneak around in jungles.

Friday 14th – ‘We Are Tekken’ edition, can’t wait. And I can’t wait to see how well Medabots 7, Accel World and TTT2 do on next week’s sales chart.

I ordered the same edition, but it’s gonna take some days to get to Norway. Does the WAT edition exist for US region?

No, it doesn’t. Exclusive to GAME in the UK.

Do you know there’s a promo code ‘WERTEKKEN’ that takes £10 off the price for the WAT edition. Offer ends 13th Sept.

Dammit! Now I wish I didn’t pre-order it so soon. They just charged for my order today!

Ah well. I was plenty happy to pay full-price for it to begin with anyway. And even 60GBP (~555NOK) is still much cheaper than how much the CE probably would have cost if it was distributed in Norway (700~900NOK).

I did post the info in the OT but is must of been “drowned out” by the wall of comments on the OT. I quickly cancelled my mine and re-ordered it with the code; now it’s been shipped, can’t wait.

Glad to hear that its still cheaper for you but it would’ve better to get it a bit cheaper though.

In hindsight, I don’t like how they offer it so close to the release date and was only revealed on their Facebook page.

I would think this is more of a “last minute” draw to people who are otherwise on the fence because of the price.

I wonder if TTT2 can sell more than P4A on its first week. Tekken 6 did pretty well despite its faults, and this game looks like it’s being praised a lot more.

I kinda prefer Paul and the colours on this box art. I hope tekken and medabots 7 do well in the sales.
