Puyo Puyo Narabe For Android Is More Like Bejeweled Than Puyo Puyo

By Spencer . September 11, 2012 . 1:22am

puyo_android5Sega announced Puyo Puyo Narabe for Android. It’s a puzzle game, but it’s not quite Puyo Puyo. Instead of stacking falling blobs, players touch puyos and move them up, left, down or right. Match four puyos and you clear them from the screen. Bombs, roulette mode, and Puyo cards keep players on their toes.

Sounds more like Bejeweled than standard Puyo Puyo to me. One other difference is Puyo Puyo Narabe has a monthly fee – 315 yen per month – instead of a one time charge or in-game item purchases.

Puyo Puyo Narabe is available now for Android devices 2.1 and up.

    That’s just silly.

I couldn’t see how someone would be willing to pay a monthly fee for a puzzle game, that looks quite simple and not that addictive. But again, I alone do not represent the whole market. Maybe people are into these kinds of games.

…Looks cute, but I wouldn’t pay monthly fees to play it.

Although I’m down for more Puyo games released, this is a bit too silly a concept for a Puyo game… and this comes from the series that released like 9000 different versions of Nazo Puyo across multiple systems.

I though the. monthly fee in mobile gaming died ages ago…
