By Spencer . September 12, 2012 . 12:35am

Demons’ Score is an upcoming music game from Square Enix where you play as Serenity. She’s your average college girl… that gets possessed by demons after she opens the Demon’s Score, a program she discovers when trying to find her missing father.

You play Demons’ Score by tapping and flicking to notes.

Square Enix paired composers and popular voice actors to voice boss monsters for Demons’ Score. Here’s a list of the combinations in the game:

Kohei Tanaka (Sakura Wars) & Atsuko Tanaka (Major Motoko in Ghost in the Shell)

Yoko Shimomura  (Kingdom Hearts) & Norio Wakamoto (Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts II)

Keiichi Okabe (Nier) & Kazuki Yao (Franky in One Piece)

Zuntata (Taito’s in house band) X Asami Shimoda (Huang in Infinite Stratos)

Naoshi Mizuta (Final Fantasy XI) & Azumi Asakura (Machiko in Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne)

Ryo Yamazaki (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers ) & Tessho Genda (Kratos in the Japanese version of God of War)

Demons’ Score is coming to iOS devices soon and slated for release on Anrdoid devices this fall.

  • Love the gameplay design. Graphics are also very unique for an S-E title, sort of makes me think more towards an Atlus style game. Either way; More Rhythm Games = More Happiness!

AAAAAAAH! The teddy’s voice is so familiar!! WHO IS IT??? Is it Konishi Katsuyuki??

    • Aoshi00

The teddy David’s voiced by Nakao Ryuusei, aka Freeza of DBZ, or Kurotsuchi Mayuri from Bleach :)  His voice is quite unique..  the still shots remind me a bit of Folklore..

Not sure if I want this game, but some really good composers like Nier’s or Tanaka Kouhei (Gravity Rush, Busou Renkin)

Looks kinda like Theatrythm (which is good), but that bears constant outbursts BLEH!  Hopefully its released in the west on Android, as rythm games work MUCH better on touch screens than platformers do!

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Yeah but with 3DS there and the old DS, isn’t rhythm also can do well there? Not to mention now Vita also had their own share of touch screen?

      • Anime10121

Oh dont get me wrong, I never said rhythm games ONLY work well on phones, I said they work better on Touch screens, which includes both the 3DS and Vita.

  • Mazdian

Ooooh, Keiichi Okabe! The music in NIER was simply fantastic! Glad they got him for this.

  • Anime10121

Check out Shimomuras track, its freking AWESOME (as always)!  Love that lady, she composes masterpieces :P

Edit: In my excitement to get this up, kinda made the pic last too long, the track preview’s only the first 30 sec.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

I came here for the bear. I’m not disappointed I would also love to see this on 3DS/vita looks great lol

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

You guys know.^_^ Only with the existance of NORIOOOOOOO i am already going to buy this game lol.^_^

  • Heavenly_King

the protagonist is nicely done :3

  • I just can’t seem to care about this game.  It feels lacking.

  • Barrit

This looks really interesting, and something I will keep my eye on. Definitely a nice twist to the rhythm genre.

  • Just Tim

Given the inclusion of Zuntata in this game’s composer roster, what’s next: Puzzle Bobble mini-game in a main FF game? xD

Jokes aside, it’s about time Taito-rooted entities are finally involved within a Square Enix project.

  • SpaceOfSoul

Debating whether to get this or not… Got a few yen stashed in my iTunes account.. But I normally buy jubeat song packs with that money… Hrm… Ill wait to see a full song list appear before I buy it.

  • Göran Isacson

TAP ANDU FLICKU. I won’t lie, that was kind of hilarious. I’m going to presume that when two targets show up, you tap them with two separate fingers?

WELP, I got to admit that it looked a bit more interesting now than in last trailer. I do hope we get to choose which outfit to wear though, because some of those designs looked quite lazy. Also, hard rock in a S-E game that DOESN’T want to make me gouge my ears out, they CAN learn!

  • This looks really good, and the music sounds good too. I’m gonna have to get this. =)

  • echokanon

Also try “Guardian Cross” that Square Enix has just released!

It’s a card battle game, enter invitation ID NS00829(note: NS are capital ) after you type your name and we’ll both get a rare card! :)
