Wait what kind of game is this?

    • http://twitter.com/josequijano jose

It says “action rpg” in the post, if that is what you are asking.

  • haqua

Magi, my favorite manga! First the anime and now a game!?  It’s getting really exciting for us fans.
I wonder what system it’s going to be on?

EDIT; Never mind, duh. I should be asking about the characters, anyway. Who will be playable, how it’s going to work, at what chapter the game will end (assuming it’s going to very closely follow the manga, anyhow)…

    • M’iau M’iaut

Hey there, nice to see you posting again.

      • haqua

Wow, I’m honestly surprised anyone noticed (thank you /for/ noticing, by the way); it has been a long time! I’m hoping to get back into posting here more often again.

        • M’iau M’iaut

I’m sure the OT gang would love to know you are back.

        • M’iau M’iaut

I wouldn’t be any good of a defender of Siliconera’s seas if I didn’t notice when a missing member of our community showed back up. I’d link ya to our ‘new’ rules but I just don’t see you spitting anger at western developers because they are western developers or making personal attacks on other posters.

    • PoweredByHentai

Pretty sure it’s for the 3DS.

What with the tag at the top and whatnot.

      • haqua

         I just noticed that, actually. It’s been a while since I’ve been here as you can see below, so I kind of forgot that it says the system up there and scrolled right past it! ;;

        • PoweredByHentai

          It’s okay.  :D

We all derp from time to time.

          • Testsubject909

            …What the hell brain?

I’m sorry, this just popped in my head, I don’t know why but I started to sing:

The derpy derpy spider went derpy derpa derp.

3DS, so basically, unless you have a Japanese 3DS you’re outta luck if you want this :(

Damn you and your region locks Nintendo!  Although, with this being an RPG, I wouldn’t import it anyway, RPG’s are one genre that are NOT import friendly.

      • haqua

True. To be honest, I’ve just been happy about the existence of some games recently, even though I know I likely won’t be able to play it. I kind of look at it like this: if the fanbase gets big enough, there’s always a slim chance it can get localized. I think Magi could get a /really/ big fanbase, and that’s not being said just because I love it so much, either.

For those of you who are familiar with anime or manga, the author’s previous work was Sumomomo Momomo.

  • Visa Vang

I really like this manga. Though they really flipped it around on the 2nd arc of the story.

  • ronin4life

Never heard of this, but I feel like I should have…
has the series been picked up in America? Ever since viz cancelled gintama, I haven’t had the want for manga here in the states …T.T

    • haqua

       It’s a really great series, so I recommend you start reading it! Unfortunately, no, it hasn’t been picked up in America. But of course, you don’t need to buy it to read it… /coughs ;;

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well of course buying the book is always a better step to shows support to the author here.

The Magi anime series begins October 7th. Since it’s an Aniplex title, with a decent staff (not sure of the seiyuu yet, that won’t be revealed till the 30th), there’s a great change that it’ll be officially streamed online. If it does decent, I’m sure the manga will get licensed too.

It’s been said there’s going to be a few differences in the anime, so there will be some chapters skipped and an anime-only character was announced too. But it’ll cover, at least, the first 76 chapters.
