I remember seeing a used premium edition of this game in my local anime store. If I only had money, DAM YOU LIFE!!!!

    • Haha xD if you get the cash, buy it. I’m one of the lucky bastards that found one when I was raiding Akihabara for some nice BRS goods. BUY IT!

  • ThatAzure

Can’t wait~~~! I just completed my second playthrough this past August (testing my japanese knowledge too xD), and I’m so pumped to play it again! xD

  • Yes! Yes! Yes!

  • Ladius

I’m fairly confident this game will see the light in the west considering its localization should be almost completed by now. Also, it’s funny to notice how games localized by NISA are always released on the European PSN Store, while Gungnir and Growlanser WoT have been rated by PEGI since weeks ago and yet none of them has even been announced for Europe.

Been waiting for some more new info. I love Black Rock Shooter, because I’ve been a big fan of her creator for at least a year and a half now. I just love anything with relations to Huke.

  • SirRichard

Well, that’s very encouraging, at least. If they’ve gotten it rated to the point where they can cite “mild bad language” then the localisation must be wrapping up soon. Looking forward to it, it’ll give my Vita something to do (if it arrives before Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, anyway).

  • Ladius

I think the delays regarding this localization were caused by ImageEpoch rather than by NISA, considering how much work IE had to do (and the delays affecting most of their current lineup) I can imagine they had a shortage of manpower and were in a situation similiar to that of Vanillaware with GKH’s localization.

Edit: It was meant to answer SirRichard’s post.

    • SirRichard

Yeah, I’ve thought that’s the case as well. They delayed Fate/Extra CCC rather heavily and I think I remember seeing something about Sol Trigger getting pushed back as well, but to be fair to them they’re at least still trying to get it all out the door, probably because they have more resources than Vanillaware right now.

      • TheCynicalReaper

Well CCC was becuase of Nasu and co. wanting to add in more at the last minute (like Gilgamesh’s route). He said so in a press release on some website in Japanese.

  • KotaroInugami

I just need to know if they are bringing over the White Rock Shooter figma with the game or not. I have an unopened Japanese Premium White Edition and I want to know if I should sell it. :P

    • No no no. Don’t sell it O_O I doubt they’ll bring over the figma. I have the White Premium Edition Box aswell, which I bought in Japan. Didn’t regret it. Don’t sell it, you’ll miss out on an epic figma.

    Vaporware general.

    • What?

I don’t get what you’re saying, can you explain?

      • $3587643

“Vaporware” is what you call a software or program under development that never exited development. All that progress turns to vapor, and a release never happens. In this case, I used the word “general” to imply that this article can only spur discussion of vaporware, as BRS’ English release has become vaporware itself.

        • M’iau M’iaut

But as has been noted, this news and the hints earlier from the JP devs pretty well take BRS out of the vaporware category.

And unless Spencer has magically changed the topic on me, this thread is not about vaporware (BRS or general).

          • dont feed the troll please

          • Psst psst.. He’s one of the mods.

          • $3587643

Dude. It was just a joke. A one-liner crack about the delays. That’s not trolling.

    • Ladius

Why being so negative when this whole news points to the fact that the game will be released in the west? I could have understood this kind of comment months ago, but as of now it feels uncalled for.

  • One step closer to the western release!

  • negineBIT

    “Mild Bad Language”

Oh come on.. we need moar than that! Wild action+explicit language is a win-win for most of us

  • xavier axol

been a psn game i know that the vita will do it justice, but i also hope that sales will too. is there another psp game coming? ’cause i really want grand knights, may be atlus will pick it up. i hope..i really hope. :'(

    • Ladius

It’s no use asking other publishers to step in regarding GKH’s localization, that game didn’t came to the US because Vanillaware couldn’t work on the technical side of the localization, XSeed already completed their translation months before they had to cancel the game.

Regarding the rest, Growlanser Wayfarer of Time is an amazing PSP game released just one month ago, and we will be able to enjoy Ragnarok Tactics in the next months, too. Class of Heroes 2 is in the pipeline, even if there isn’t a release date at the moment.

      • xavier axol

if i remember correctly didn’t atlus announced that they will be publishing dragon crown? all i’m saying, is that if peope keep asking them just like how people wanted growlancer. it could persuade atlus to publish it (plus..come on!, it’s grand knights from vanillaware). i can assure you that atlus got nothing to lose with this game, vanillaware is already working with them so… you know it can happen. also thanks for reminding me about ragnarok tactics, i’m getting both odyssey and tactics .

        • Ladius

I would be the first to rejoice if GKH was announced again for the west,
but it’s just really unlikely once you consider the situation, as sad
as it is. Vanillaware simply hasn’t enough manpower to develop DC and work on GKH’s localization at the same time, and that’s why they didn’t honor their agreement with XSeed even if the translation was already done.

Dragon Crown’s situation is completely different, Atlus isn’t only localizing the game, it’s helping its development and funding it since Ignition wasn’t able to support Vanillaware and the whole game risked to be cancelled. And keep in mind that it’s a PS3PSVita game, far more profitable (especially in the west) than a niche PSP release focused on online play.

        • JazzyMan123

Excuse my rudeness here….but can people just shut up about GKH already? The localization of that game is dead period and all the other publishers are quite aware what happened there.

  • Maia Kasoya

“Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle”… How do you pronounce that?

    • Crok425

       I don’t have a clue. :I

    • Talbot

xD It really isn’t as hard as you immediately think.

Then again, it’s easy for me to say, considering I am from Germany. =P

      • Locklear93

         It’s not that hard, actually.

Then again, it’s at least moderately easier for me to say, considering I studied German for four years. :P

        Cheaters unite? <_<

    • XiaomuArisu

I prefer to say USK its shorterXD

    • RaikageV

      …like oontahultoongssoftware selpstcontroll-e ^^

  • D-Rev

I do hope that BRS get’s a physical release.
I just prefer physical games over Digital copies…

    •  On the flip side if it’s digital release versus no localization, I’ll take the digital download…
