Wow.  Sounds like a great deal to me.  I love my Hulu Plus, enjoyed playing Skyrim, and Forza has great driving mechanics and is a favorite in the drag racing scene.  I’d get it if i ever wanted a 360.  Maybe someday but i’m satisfied with my Ps3 for now.  Good marketing, Microsoft.

I knew 360s didn’t sell well in Japan, but I didn’t know it was so bad to warrant such a great bundle such as this .__.

They always had great bundles though, like Elite w/ Bayonetta & Alan Wake..  this is a really really good bundle though (I spent a lot importing a Star Wars one). But yeah, the Box is niche there :(.. This is better than the $99 deal w/ 2-yr subscription here..

I’ve been waiting for their slim to price drop. Briefly had a jp fat I didn’t use enough.

They got a bargin..to bad this still won’t do any good.

Why even bother at this point? Unless MS wants to clear stock…

If Microsoft released that exact same bundle over here for $250, I’d probably get it.  250GB hard drive, the only good console version of Skyim, and a good racing game.  Great deal.  Then again, it’s close to Black Friday, and although I swore never to go out again on that day, maybe I’ll be able to get some good deals online.

it kinda sucks that they waste these bundles on people who won’t want them in the first place o ,o

then again, Skyrim isn’t much to get excited over

I thought that they’d pretty much given up on Japan at this point. Nice to see that they’re still trying to some extent.

Congratulations Microsoft, you sold 5 more 360′s in Japan!
That’s a good deal and all, but I still wouldn’t spend any money for a 360. The only reason I would is because of Tales of Vesperia and that has a better expansion on the PS3. There’s also a team that’s been working on an English patch the past few years so I’ll wait for that patch to play the game (of course if Bamco releases it in English that’d be evn better) :D

Pretty good deal for anyone that wants to finally jump on Cave’s games.

If my current Japanese 60 GB Pro model dies, I’ll probably jump on this bundle.

That seems like a pretty sweet deal, actually. It really bugs me how the Japanese market has just shot down the Xbox 360 in favor of the PS3, because there really isn’t much of a reason for it. There have been alot of cross platform Japanese games, and other than Metal Gear Solid, I can’t think of many popular Japanese franchises that have been Sony exclusives. Lord knows the Japanese don’t care about Uncharted or Jak and Daxter. Hope this motivates Japanese gamers to give the 360 a chance.

Well to be honest the PS3 has a more diverse collection of games that suit the Japanese, and there’s plenty of Exclusive JRPGS that Japanese people like, for example Disgaea and the Persona series, even the Tales of. series with there back to back PS3 exclusives.

    • Aoshi00

Yeah, it’s definitely sad to see they didn’t give it a chance.  They do care about US games like Uncharted, Heavy Rain, or Ratchet though.. they might not have sold like crazy, but they do start to appreciate quality US games in recent years, these games warranted a full Jpn dub too (I buy all Jpn ver of Uncharted for the dual dub even Golden Abyss lol), even games like GTA 4 didn’t.

MS Japan never stopped trying, look at all the fully localized US games, VNs, shmups (some are slowly being ported to PS3, like Steins;Gate or Muv Luv), multiplatforms, and early exclusive JRPGs.. guess there’s just no way to change that perception.  And they actually did a lot of marketing too, not sure if you have watched the Jpn ver of Inside Xbox.  It’s a pity the program has been axed in both US/Europe and Jpn.

Personally, I usually get multiplatform for my 360 and only get exclusives for my PS3.. I use my PS3 to watch Netflix and blu-rays more :)

While I agree for the most part, I don’t think it’s so much that 360 got shot down as it is that it never really went beyond niche status. The 360 feels completely reminiscent (at least to myself) of the Dreamcast, with its heavy emphasis on VNs and Arcade games. Though watching JP XBL Insider, I guess they did try to push a Western game here and there, but it just doesn’t hit home with them.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know why anyone would want any version of Skyrim other than the PC. Where you get all of the glorious mods, and just less buggy gameplay in general.

Mods for better UI, better resolution, you can be Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, you can be Link from the Legend of Zelda, you can be Lightning dressed up as Link from the Legend of Zelda. You can be Tifa from Final Fantasy VII. You can be an Elin from Tera. You can be Hatsune Miku. You can change your loading screen to Cirno, Wriggle, and everyone from “team nineball” bouncing up and down. An airship. Summoning meteor(more like a really powerful version of comet, in Final Fantasy terms). An Airship. Sephiroth’s Masamune. Cloud/Zack’s Buster Sword. All of the Tera Online items. The Monster Hunter weapons. Several Monster Hunter monsters. A My Little Pony horse. A gigantic home underneath your Breeze home. A ring that allows several Elin to fight for you on command. A lightsaber. A gun…

Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of wRPGs and am definitely not on the Skyrim hype bandwagon. But it’s obvious you’re going to get the best experience out of the PC version. Especially if you have Japanese tastes.

I wouldn’t even bother with the console version of that game under any circumstances.

The XBOX 360 is good for exclusives like Cave shooters, Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia if you don’t speak Japanese(which means Japan is excluded from this example), and yes… Forza Motorsport isn’t a bad exclusive, either.
