OMG! this game was great when I played it on the Wii.

Another reason to buy a Vita.

Vita owners will have a great time with this great game!  I wonder what the DLC is about?

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Words can’t describe how giddy I am for this to drop. I hope this port does Vanillaware’s artstyle justice.

    =D

Also, wtf?! TGS comes and goes and there’s no update on Dragon’s Crown?! Come the F*** on, Vanillaware/Atlus!!!!

    D=<

    *Sigh* …man, am I bipolar tonite…

  • Zonic505

While I’m glad to hear there’ll be new content, announcing DLC for a game to which we haven’t even gotten a trailer for (granted, it’s a port, but still) seems kind of….weird.

In any case, I really hope this gets brought over to the US.

  • Visa Vang

Sweet. I always hated playing this awesome game on the Wii. Maybe we’ll have a nice button layout that isn’t so awkward.

    • Aoshi00

The control was actually rather good for the Wii ver, either w/ nunchuck and remote or classic controller (I forgot if any waggling was needed).  W/ new DLC story and trophies, I wouldn’t mind playing on the Vita ver again, awesome and beautiful action game, jaw dropping landscape and epic soundtrack and boss fights.  I might be a little greedy, would be even better if this is a PS3 HD remake like Okami :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/valiusPIU Kevin Tan

No waggle needed, you can play it on CC, GC controller, or Wiimote/Nunchuck.  To be honest, I used a SNES controller-> GC converter to play all 40 hours of the game for all the endings. :)  A 1991 controller for a 2009 game?!  YES. :D

        • Aoshi00

Yeah, that’s what I liked, instead of forcing you to waggle, like Donkey Kong smashing the ground.  wow, you used a SNES controller?  I still have one too.. I wish I had bought the Super Famicom controller that connects to the Wii remote before before for the old titles..  I used the nunchuck/remote to beat the game though and thought the control wasn’t bad at all..  Hopefully we would get another epic 2D sidescroller from Vanillaware soon..  the Jpn motif reminds me of Goemon so much

Love this game, and im happy its coming to vita! I just played Symphony of the night on vita and it made me want to have more platformers on my vita. So this and Dokuro will be nice additions to my vita collection!

  • Yamaneko22

Adding Torahime as a playable character with her own scenario and bosses would be a dream come true, but that would be way too much work for just DLC…

Anyway, I hope that Alter will make a PVC figure of Torahime on her undead steed :)

    • z_merquise

Actually, Vanillaware initially planned 4 playable characters. Momohime, Kisuke then Torahime and also Jinkuro in his human form.

There were also bosses that were planned but never made in the final cut like the nine-tails fox.

Maybe they can now add those in this game.

      EDIT:
I can’t find from what article I found that there would be 4 playable characters but as for the bosses that weren’t included, George Kamitani said it in this interview:

      http://mag.gomorning.com/index.php?fuseaction=SiteMain.Content&contentid=1917

      (at page 2)
Kamitani: . . .there really was tons of stuff already drawn that had to be cut… a lot of bosses. We had been holding back youkai like Nekomata, Kyuubi, Outengu, and Jorougumo

      • Yamaneko22

Wow, I didn’t know about that O_O Thanks for the info! Maybe it’s not so impossible after all :D

  • the9reen9uy

Niccceeee!! This was one of my favorite games from the Wii library =D  Lots of action and tons of fun!

  • http://www.siliconera.com Jenni

I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Anything for Vanillaware!

  • Xmas Lopez

I want! I want! Bring it over to the west

Amazing! Loved this game to death and enjoyed every bit of it. And now you’re telling me that we’re going to get extra scenarios (and possibly more playable characters, perhaps?).

Uhmmm…I think the time has come for me to get a shiny (white) Vita…

I’m sorry my wallet. I did abuse you a lot lately, but please, stay with me! By the way, October is just around the corner and I-I didn’t tell you before, b-but a lot of games are coming ou-…NO, WAIT! DON’T GO! I NEED YOU!

    • psycho_bandaid

you need to keep your wallet in a cage, man. When you go out you can chain it to your belt loop.

  • Herok♞

I look forward to buying this for the go.

  • K Mantle

I got Muramasa, Little King’s Story ans Fragile Ruins as gifts last christmas

Then, Little King’s Story came out in the Vita
    And now Muramasa
    ARE YOU FRIGGIN’ KIDDING ME!?

    • alastor3

huuuh little king story on the wii and the one on the vita aren’t the same game, not the same story, not the same character, just the same gameplay and that will probably change a bit too

      • K Mantle

The art style is different, but it’s basically the same game (not the exact same game, but still very very similar, incluiding both characters and story)

  • MrRobbyM

Wait. You’re going to re-release a game and then plan DLC for it already but not include it in the game to begin with? Even if it’s free, it doesn’t make much sense.

  • Testsubject909

    Woo! More stuff!

And oddly enough… This makes one less reason for me to get a Wii/Wii U (I never got my hands on Muramasa and before I knew it, I moved on to getting other games and put it in the backburner of “I’ll go get it later or borrow it from a friend”, guess those plans are changing.)

  • psycho_bandaid

I am impatient but if I import this buying the DLC will be a pain…

  • sherimae1324

TO all those VITA DOOMSAYERS and WANNABE CRITICS about the VITA being a FAILURE…. now eat those keyboards of yours ^_^

    • Jordan Coleman

Yep, this really shows us. A port of a three year old game with some extra content. Man I hope they port over Arc Rise Fantasia and are nice enough to add a extra dungeon or two. Then the Vita can really be kicking.

  • TheRealMalek

Yeah i’m too impatient to replay a game i already finished 6 times just to pay pay dlc.

I would prefer a release date for Dragon crown than this.

  • Christopher Nunes

I loved Muramasa: The Demon Blade when it came out in the US on the Wii, one of my favorite games and the MOST beautiful-looking 2D game to date on the Wii in my opinion.

I’m looking forward to this on the VITA, and this new DLC Story is really interesting and I wonder if there’s two sides of it for the two Protagonists. Interesting I wouldn’t mind if the new DLC story featured a unique third Protagonist to it, because I would like to see it… though it might be the fanfic-idea coming out of my mind on that part.

Looking forward to this game! If it doesn’t get localized I’ll import it!

…Though I like to see Ciel no Surge now that I think about importing Japanese-only games. :<

  • Go2hell66

this is probably one of my all time favourite games, really this game is right up there at the top for me, always considered muramasa to be more of a work of art than just a video game.

i really hope this gets localised but if it comes to it i’m willing to import, really everyone with a vita shouldn’t even have to think about picking up this game, whether you’ve played it on wii or not

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XQSNDA4V47UI7LX6IGLZJGP424 Moondrops

why not include the new content on the disc itself?? why do we gotta download it??

    • http://amc9988.deviantart.com/ amc99

Maybe so that they will get some  money?

      • Samurai Don

Rather have it on the disk that having to fork out some more money, that they should already have when I brought the game new.

  • SupaPhly

glad I held out buying it on the wii

  • Asuna Ilano

dammit! quit giving me reasons to get a vita >.<

    • DarthSithZero

Wait for more games it’s too early to get vita
