Tales Of Xillia 2 Makes Milla’s Sister And The King Of Liese Maxia Playable

By Spencer . September 26, 2012 . 5:08pm

gaius Aside from Ludger, all of the playable Tales of Xillia 2 characters were from Tales of Xillia. We’re finally getting to two new characters announced in Jump.

Gaius, the King of Liese Maxia, is in Tales of Xillia 2. He’s keeping his true identity a secret and holds the thought of protecting the weak close to his heart. Gaius also plays a role in Tales of Xillia (pictured), he has a new costume for Tales of Xillia 2. Musee is Milla Maxwell’s older sister. She reappeared in the human world somehow and possess a spirit with the power to cut dimensions.

Ridou wand Cronos are also mentioned in the scan. Both of them are doctors agents from Clanspia.

  • wha…. ONTO PLAY-ASIA Pre-order SECTION !!!! *q*

Gonna solo the game with my husbando Gaius~~  (ʳ ´º㉨º)ʳ

  • Tales_of_Master

MUST…RESIST…PRE-ORDERING >xc I’m gonna hope for a localization after we get ToX. Up until now I always imported Tales games, but I’ll wait on this one in hope of getting to play it in English. Don’t disappoint me Namco.

    • Freud_Hater

Resistance is futile, pal. Just do like me and pre-ordering! It’s so sweet to give in! >:D

  • So we went from 6 to 9 playable characters? Goddamn, this sequel is getting me Hype (for the eventual American release(It exists in my heart))

    • MrRobbyM

Don’t worry, it exists in my heart too. And my heart is usually right..

      or I make it right

But seriously. I like a big cast of playable characters. I like to have options.

  • GAIUS!!!! Gonna have him and Milla in my team, forever!

  • Leon_Tekashi

Okay, now I’m really getting hyped for this game. Can’t wait for this to get localized, that is if the prequel does well. The Tales series deserves to be supported.

    • MrRobbyM

If the sales of ToGf, a Wii port, was good enough for them, then the chances are good at the least. I’m almost certain we’ll get this unless something else conflicts.

      • LightZero

They were still slightly disappointed with the 63K sales although they seem to finally have low expectations. They used to expect every Tales game to do as well as Symphonia in sales. If the first game gets properly advertise and the Tales fans stop trying to rip each other part then the game might get lucky and sale 100K. So long it sells at least a bit better than Graces then we might get Xillia 2.

        • MrRobbyM

I heard they were pleased or they expected less or something like that. But either way, like I said, that was for a wii port and didn’t get the best reviews from bigger review sites(not that anyone should be listening to them to begin with). ToX and especially ToX2 are much bigger and better looking games that aren’t ports with a whole different feel to them. I’d say it’s safe to expect more some more sales. But I do agree, fans need to stop bickering.

          • LightZero

I wouldn’t say Xillia is bigger. Graces has way more content than Xillia. Vesperia also have more content as well. Being better looking doesn’t guarantee sales either. Abyss looks better than Legendia and it sold like crap. Jrpgs in general don’t really get the best reviews this gen. I don’t expect Xillia to do too much better either.

The main thing that screwed Graces (and other Tales games with the exception of Symphonia and Vesperia) over is the lack of advertising. It doesn’t help that the Tales fanbase is divisive and fickle as well.

  • Elemiel

    And the fandom rejoiced.

  • Nitraion

When this game first announced i remember people getting negative feeling about only one player playable in the game….
now this game getting better and better :D

    •  well people will always find something to complain about even when its not entirely true

      sidenote: wazzup old me =P

    • LightZero

Because some people don’t have patience. I’m not sure if it just the younger generation or not who does that. Graces did the same thing with Asbel. Some people were naive to think he would be the only playable character back in 08.

  • Darkrise

That title is such a spoiler for those who haven’t played the first Xillia lol. But, this does make things more interesting, 9 playable characters in-total? Count me hyped.

    • raymk

Its actually a minor spoiler not big at all.

      • agumike (けんじ)

There is something else that would actually be a spoiler instead of this. You learn GAius is King super early after you first meet him, along with Musse.

    • That’s not a spoiler. .__. As those 2 characters are even on the cover of the 1st game.

  • Hau To

Uh. Is it alright to put spoilers for Xillia to those who haven’t played yet even though this is Xillia 2?

  • Nee Nee

  • MrTyrant

and…Ludger can have intimacy parameter (s. link) with them too? this is awesome. How is Milla’s sister?

  • IshimaruKaito

should i import this???!?? ugh i just dont kno if i cant wait for them to announce it in the US i need it ASAP!! (hmmm will i be able to follow even tho i dont kno japanese?)

  • Can I first have the first game though please? =)

  • keithmaxx

A playable Gaius really sounds awesome, though I wonder up to what extent I can play him as… A mere fifteen minutes of plot won’t cut it.

  • Ladius

Just a quick question, are the infos provided in this news’ title spoiler material for those of us who haven’t played Xillia (I imagine the vast majority of Siliconera’s readers) or are those safe informations introduced in the beginning of the first game?

A yesno would be enough, I wouldn’t want any more spoilers :P

  • Christopher Nunes

Wait… Milla has an older sister? o_0
Would she be the mysterious entity that talks to Jude at the beginning of the game or someone else?

This is interesting, aside from the Escort Titles such as the Radiant Mythology series, has there be a Tales game with 9 or more characters before? Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Legendia are currently two Tales games I’m aware of with more than the standard 6-7 party members in the series.

    • Ummmm… Vesperia? 7 and a half on the 360 version and 9 fully playable characters on the PS3 one. .__. Xillia 2 has 9 too, at the moment. Doubt it’ll have more.

      • Christopher Nunes

I see… any Tales games that went over 10 playable characters?

        • Mothership titles… no. Spin-off, Tales of Symphonia(DotNW) for the Wii had 10, and the monster thing. And Tales of Phantasia Narikiri Dungeon had 10 too, Dio, Mell, Kururu, the new girl which name slipped, and the original Phantasia cast. (And the Tales of the World games had tons. xD)

    • Speedo Redempteur

      Mila has a sister ..
If you refer to the voices that jude hears in the xillia 1 prologue , then no. Those were mila spirits talking to jude ..
Mila sister, muse appears in the middle of xillia 1 i could tell more but that would be xilia 1 spoilers

Symphonia 1 also has 9 playable characters

      • Christopher Nunes

Oh, I see. Thanks… I’ll be looking forward to Xillia 1 when it comes out in the US!

      • Only had 8, never got the 9 at the same time. As you had either Kratos or Zelos. :/

  • Demeanor

Muse playable… -> Muse has a Hi-Ougi and can link artes with Milla I assume… AUTOMATIC MUST BUY DAY ONE!!!

  • Finally… Xillia PROPER… i am pretty sure Gaius and Musee was planned as playable character in Xillia 1… the original only had 6 playable characters and you use 4 in battle which makes the roster puny compare to ToGF and Vepseria PS3…
