Persona 4 Arena Rebalanced With New Patch

By Spencer . September 28, 2012 . 4:42pm

p4a_screens_storymode_12Atlus released a patch for Persona 4 Arena that fixes game balance and network issues. The patch also corrects a bug that prevented some players from earning the "Network mode Level 30" trophy or achievement.

The patch is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users. Boot up Persona 4 Arena and you’ll automatically download it.

I uh… don’t think it does any rebalancing. It only fixes a glitch and those network things IIRC.

    • While they didn’t list any specific changes, Atlus specifically said the patch addresses game balance issues so we’ll go with what they said.

      • Natat

Well, I guess that technically it does adress game balance since it fixes the Yukiko unblockable glitch, so yeah lol.

      • Shane Guidaboni

If the game was going to be rebalanced, we would have heard about it before hand from Japanese arcades. The patch would have been applied there first before it was to console.

  • Chris Yuen

Let’s hope that Atlus cast Debilitate on the Score Attack mode or something…to make it somewhat possible for casual players like me…

    • Kairags

Difficulty on score attack isn’t gonna go down. It’s meant to be annoyingly hard.

    • You should try Unlimited Mars from BB:CSE.

[Insert comment about Europe still not even having the game here]
But seriously…Zen United… we need someone to light a fire under them for updates; their comments of aiming an August release date… and now not a single update, except matters out of their hands. An update is all we ask.
Atlus if you’re reading this open an European office…it’s about time either that or sign a publishing deal instead of Europeans having to rely of numerous different publishers…
I just…I’m sure everyone else (Europeans at least) share’s my frustrations…
I mean I really want to play this…each time the news on this game that is not about the european release date…it feels like a middle finger to the European Persona and fighting games fans.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

There are still waiting for Atlus Japan to give them the clear to release the game.

    • Agreed.

I really wantED to play this, but all the hype is long gone now. Besides, with me getting ACIII on the PS3 and possibly a Vita with a bunch of games (Gravity Daze, Uncharted and Liberation for now), I feel like I won’t be missing it so much after all.

I’m sorry Atlus, you won’t be getting my money for once. Screwed with us EU gamers too much this time. Still love you though.

    • Ladius

It seems ZEN isn’t the only one at fault, apparently there isn’t even a working build for the European version to submit to Microsoft and SCEE.

  • SirRichard

They’re even beginning to patch and rebalance the game before we even get it, this is seriously just pathetic now. I know I’ve harped on about this for the last ten or whatever articles about this game, and this will be last until Zen or Atlus talk about Europe, but it’s like they actively don’t want to publish games or even have their games published by others in regions outside Japan and America.

  • OatMatadoQuatro

I really hope this patch fixes Aigis’ armor

  • Shane Guidaboni

This patch didn’t rebalance the game. It fixed Yukiko’s Agidyne unblockable bug and some other network issues.

    • raymk

Only thing I could find as well, though I guess that does count as balance.  They should have left her with that glitch it was what was making her useful.  They sure didn’t seem to remove naoto IK glitch.

  • Question: Did Atlus lock the online ? US/EU gamers – with import copy :p – can play with Japanese and so on ? Still no release date for the PAL version and I don’t think I’ll wait THAT long (2013 obviously).

    • Code

      Nope online isn’t regional specific, although each disc is individually region locked; so it’s good to be conscious of that factor >o>;;

  • Zonic505

Glad to see some things got fixed, but it really would’ve been nice if they released some patch notes so we know exactly what the patch fixed/changed. Granted, it wasn’t a major patch, but it’s nice to know beforehand.

  • AJ

I just picked up this game and it should be arriving in the mail at some point.  If anyone wants to play, my gamertag/XBL is…wait am I even allowed to do this?

Anyway, I feel bad for Europe.  I’ll be sure to keep playing this game once it arrives on your side.  I wish you the best.

  • BadenBadenPrinny

Too bad this game disappointed me

      • KyoyaHibari

  • mamo esmat

  • Go2hell66

    imma play mitsuru

  • Neppygear

Atlus, babes, please don’t leave the Europeans hanging. We did nothing wrong. :(

  • Jezzy

Still waiting for that PAL release…

  • There should be a way to block news about this game from the web.
i want to forget its exist, then suddenly be surprised when it drops by my house.
Yes, a PAL version that is.

  • MrJechgo

Dude, that game is great, it’s a great concept and the both Atlus and ASW did a great job with the source material to turn it into a fighting game.

A patch just comes out to fix a few things and you’re ditching the game for no apparent reason ?!? What is wrong with you people ?!?

Europe doesn’t have it yet, but with an attitude like that, don’t complain if you DON’T get it because both Atlus and Zen United might see that you don’t care about the game anymore.

Furthermore, that game is gonna need our support to get a sequel and/or possibly DLC (hoping for a sequel here though). So would you guys quit whining about the game ? Aside from a pending EU release, tell me what’s wrong with it. The mecanics ? The characters ? The online ? The story ? Aside from the 360 version crappy online, which they quickly fixed, that game eclipses just about every other fighting game there is right now.

    • SirRichard

“A patch just comes out to fix a few things and you’re ditching the game for no apparent reason ?!? What is wrong with you people ?!?”

You want to point out anyone who’s actually said anything to that effect? Because unless some comments aren’t appearing for me, absolutely no-one has said anything like this. No-one has called the game bad or anything, just pointed out that the patch does not rebalance the game and that it has some glitches. I daresay that’s not unholy slander of the most foul sort, wouldn’t you agree?

And frankly if that’s your view of the Europe situation then you’d best keep it to yourself, to put it politely. Atlus have time and again shown that as far they’re concerned, the world consists of North America and Japan, everyone else be damned, and you want us to lap that up? You sicken me.

    • Jisgsaw

“Europe doesn’t have it yet, but with an attitude like that, don’t complain if you DON’T get it because both Atlus and Zen United might see that you don’t care about the game anymore.”

Yeah sure, we should just applaud and be thankfull for Atlus and Zen that despite their promise to get the game in August, we probably won’t see it till 2013. And thank god they won’t translate it, so what we basically will get will just be the american release. Good thing they region locked it too, unlike any other PS3 game, so that we can’t import it to play.

      Yeah so THANKS Atlus, really.

  • Crevox

This title is horribly wrong. Nothing was rebalanced, they just fixed a glitch with Yukiko’s Agidyne becoming unblockable for the entire round with one Fire Break.

    The game was not “rebalanced.”

  • Yes, that’s very classy…

  • Demeanor

…and you can download it right now.

    That is, provided you’re not a European gamer… like me… >_<
