I was going to pick RE 6 for the 360 next week…but the reviews haven’t been too hot.

    • Curan_Altea

They’ve been mixed really. A fair amount of good, bad, and OK reviews. Personally I’ll be picking it up, because I enjoyed the demos and I’m a big fan of the series. And the good reviews I read seemed to praise the reasons I wanted to play.

      • Lightthrower

Big fan of the series RE4/RE5 or RE1-2-3? My favorite was RE2 and RE3 close behind. I love survival horror, but it’s sad to see RE become an action game/shooter. It is not survival horror anymore.

        • Curan_Altea

Most of them really. 5 was undeniably poor, but still fun with a friend. I’ve played Zero, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and Revelations. Personally 2 and revelations were some of my favorites. Sure I miss the horror, but I still care about the story and characters.

    • Luna Kazemaru

The reviews have been more or less of a joke IMO more like ranting on how RE has changed. I’ve played it and it has a few flaw but nothing to warrent anything less then 6 or 7 IMO.

  • malek86

This looks like SA2 week for me. I hope the remaster is ok… some of their conversions haven’t been too good. I’ll get the trial version first.

    • nirvana123

well the first SA game was the game cube port which was made more glitchy than the original but if they are using the game cube version of 2 i think it will be ok. Im more curious about nights to be honest because i was actually thinking about getting a saturn for that and the panzer dragoon games.

      • malek86

I’m not a big fan of Nights (I know, I know, what a heartless bastard I am). Although I will give this trial a go too… maybe I’ll like it better with a modern controller. I could just never get into that Saturn Analog giant monstrosity.

        • nirvana123

yea thats one thing i was thinking about to actually if modern controllers would work as good or better than the controller it originally came with.

  • Sol Trigger is tempting.

Meh, I’ll wait a couple of months to see if there’s going to be a western release or not.

    • Zeromus321

Same here, I’m praying some localization company picks it up, despite it being on the PSP.

  • Göran Isacson

Ooh, Sol Trigger’s gonna get released. Looking forward to seeing how the reviews turn out- I’ve been kinda interested in it ever since seeing a picture of all the mains. What can I say- I’m a sucker for dashing uniforms… and the whole “it’s ImageEpoch trying to make the best darn JRPG they can”, that’s pretty neat too.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

Carrier Command, Resident Evil 6 and Sonic Adventure 2 for me :D

  • eilegz

re6 its been amazing…. dont believe the reviews.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

NEVER believe reviewers. Especially if they are from Destructoid.

      • Kris

Well, I think that it’s important to know a reviewer, rather than just swear off all reviews (the guy who reviewed RE6 at Destructoid is a friend of mine, but based on the demo, I respectfully disagree with some of his thoughts).

If there’s a reviewer that you’ve found that who thinks like you do, it can be informative to read their opinion on something, but by no means should any review be taken as gospel. :)

    • Aoshi00

This is the only RE6 review we need, Conan was one of the first people who got to play the game lol..

I say play the game yourself, and only read reviews from the people who have similar taste as you.  That’s how I am w/ movies, if I want to see it I go see it and then read the reviews later.. I agree w/ Ebert mostly but not always.. I would miss a lot of movies I enjoy if I only listen to him.. I do read reviews for blu-rays though, like hi def digest…

Anyway, my copy shipped today, I’m pretty sure I would like it, has Hong Kong for one thing (Capcom uses a diff name I know..).. just saw Retribution the other day, Li Bingbing’s Ada Wong was pretty hot :), Damnation is not bad either, the CG is much better than Degeneration.

I imported Sol Trigger too, pray to god it doesn’t suck like the Last Promise.. I’m actually not too big a fan of imageepoch…

  • No surprise here. Give us back classic Resident Evil. You know, the ones that were all praised. Anyone who likes survival horror, look away, it burns.
