Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC Shows An Alternate Hopeless Future

By Spencer . October 2, 2012 . 2:26pm

imageNintendo has a rather dark alternate storyline for Fire Emblem: Awakening coming to the eShop on October 4. The Hopeless Future 1 presents a different future where war continues and shows what happens to the child characters in the story.

Cynthia, Degel (pictured), Nn, and Noire are in a prison. Your goal is to quickly rescue them, but the four characters are split into individual blocks. The Hopeless Future 1 has new dialogue scenes and should be a challenge to complete since the map is rated four stars.

For a second there i thought this was going to be a opinion piece about how Nintendo doing well with DLC will be the end of the industry xD
I guess i should have read the title carefully.

At least you probably didn’t read the first line and stupidly thought the game was actually coming the eshop on october 4th

    Meanwhile, outside of Japan…

    •  *kicks dirt*…Sure would be nice to play that new fire emblem…yup 3;

      • This game will be worth the wait till 2013. :)

        • Since I already finished the game, I can tell you it’s worth it.  I think the way that the player is incorporated into the game is a very interesting feature and since I went from playing the series on GBA right to the 3DS, seeing the cutscenes was kind of mind-blowing.

Interesting concept- letting the young characters grow up in extra material that still leaves things open enough for a sequel. A nice way to let the fans see what COULD be, so to speak.

This game has eaten so much of my money XD… I did not think there would be so much DLC when I first got it, and then kept going, “I have the first two, why not three?” “I have the first three, why not four?” I am now in too deep but can’t quit XD…

I wish it was a little cheaper. I am excited to play this one! ^^/

It sucks that human nature wants us to have complete things. I can understand, if it does not interest you then don’t buy it. But for DLC, it’s like if we enjoy the game to buy DLC then we have to buy ALL the DLC.

Worse so if the DLC continues the story or mechanics…

Story: Fallout 3. You most certainly would want to get Broken Steel because it continues the main story.

Mechanics: Halo 3. Map packs, want to play on the playlist? Need to buy the new dlc! Otherwise play the playlist, which may or may not have the gametype you want to play, that barely anyone plays anymore.

Sounds like if I wanted FE:A, then I should wait for the price to go down.

One of my friends who plays XBox 360 here was talking about how the need for completion made the achievement and trophy system so popular XD he mentioned Halo 3 and map packs as well, and Fallout 3 XD

        Yes…3918 yen for initial purchase, then 100 yen…200 yen.. 250 yen…300 yen…200 yen…o___o…@[email protected]…>___.<…XD…

Oh siliconera why do you mock us with dlc news when we are waiting for the game

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Because we are going to get this game? After Reggie accidently said about this game coming here?

And the DLC here is actually a very nice DLC?

  • keithmaxx

2013 can’t come any sooner… Then again, there are also so many great 3DS games to tide us over this holiday season. (Not to mention the Wii U release, too.)

       Blame 2012.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

    2013 never seems so far.T_T

Now how much of that DLC would we get in the west? Many include characters never seen in the west.
