Prince of Persia creator, Jordan Mechner, is working on a remake of his old beat-em-up game, Karateka. This week, the first screenshots of the game were made available and you can take a look at them below.

Karateka puts you in the shoes (sandals?) of three different martial-arts practitioners who set out to rescue a princess from an evil warlord. The game is in development for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and iOS devices.

We all know what we’re really waiting for here

    • Why do any asian-themed game made by american share all the same art style? It’s as if japanese people were big bulky indian warriors in their minds…

Good graphics but very bad designs…

I kinda feel like they should have kept the generic white guy look but oh well. It definitely looks good.

  • as long as that goddamn eagle is not in it!

This game reminds me of Samurai Jack for some reason.

  • Ladius

The pseudo-Mulan cartoon Asian style looks really bad here imho, not to mention it’s a complete departure from the original’s art direction.

This could be the next sands of time but that might be too high.

Looks pretty neat, but I wonder  who’s the protagonist in the screen with the big vest-wearing guy and the dude in black pauldrons… I’m kinda hoping for the latter.

  • so a japaese themed beatemup suddenly becomes chinese style in the remake?
looks like one of those random games people make but fear they won’t sell well thus naming them something at least known
