By Spencer . October 8, 2012 . 1:32pm

Announce1Gungho Online Entertainment America announced Dokuro will be available on October 16 for $19.99 as a PlayStation Network download. Dokuro is also slated for a European release this winter.

Dokuro puts you in control of a skeleton hero, Dokuro, who works for the Dark Lord as a grunt. One day the Dark Lord captures a helpless Princess that he forced into marriage, an act that breaks Dokuro’s heart. When Dokuro sees the Princess cry he decides to set her free and guide her through the Dark Lord’s trap filled castle. Dokuro can double jump to flip switches and open a path for the Princess. He can also carry her when he drinks a blue potion that transforms Dokuro into a dashing hero.

We’ll have more on Dokuro later today and check out our interview with the game’s director who told us the game’s original tag line was "Have You Saved a Princess lately?"

Depending on how large the game is It will determine if I import or buy off psn.

  • wizeguy22

still deciding on import or psn .. leaning towards psn though .. cant wait either way

To be honest, the price is awesome for what you get. I was worried it’d be priced too high a la New Little King’s Story but 19.99 is perfect~.

I do wonder who the BDSM-lady is supposed to be. We already have one Dark Lord, so what’s her deal?

    … The princess sorcerer-mother, perhaps? Mother-in-law from hell… literally.

I’m getting these Breath of Death vibes.

Good news for vita owner here.^_^ even though after playing the demo, I dont really like the game there.T_T

Hope other guys will enjoy this game here.^_^

  • I usually play puzzle games (stress reliever), but apparently lately it’s the main reason I’m effin stressed out >o<
I guess i'll put this on my vita

  • Nicholas Gatewood

At $20, I definitely hope it has quite a bit of content. I love supporting Vita-exclusive games with my dollar vote but I’m not sure it’d have sufficient content to warrant its asking price; I could snag a title like Peace Walker or something at that price. Many Vita downloadable titles should get a $5 price drop, like Plants vs Zombies($15), New Little King’s Story($40) and Escape Plan($15 initial price, over $20 in important DLC already). Retail titles that’re on PSN generally have a 10% discount, that’s better than it needs to be but download-only titles are kinda on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of price and content. :<
