Earth Warriors is so catchy, when Sakura Wars 5 came out, that was my ringtone for awhile.

  • I feel sorry for the Ogreltail….

and come on Soma wheres your witty response to the rabbit in the suit!

no Idea where I was going with that.

so anyway I whant this game now(was on the fence at first but not anymore)

  • Delicious Alisa…. *AHEM*

God eater for 3DS..make that happen

  • Göran Isacson

Well, I’m intrigued- what’s the bunny-mans story? I thought that Sakura Wars, despite having steam-powered mecha, were mostly about human enemies and heroes.

    my body is ready!

After watching Sword Art Online I want to pretend .hack never happened after I have wasted so much time and money into that universe and then one 14 episode series has so far done everything in .hack better…

and then I see Black Rose, and I remember why I keep going back.

    • Renzouri

Make that 26 episodes. (ALfheim Online is next)

      • Brimfyre

Well I meant so far it has already done more than .hack, and yes there is a lot still to come.  I’m excited.

It’s just that both shows have about the same concept and twist and villian, but SAO expresses all the same ideas without being a convoluted mess.  The characters are more human.  Like I said I’ve invested a lot of my life into .hack and I doubt I could quit cold turkey, but imagine a World where CyberConnect just bought the rights to SAO, and based their franchise on that.

        • Exkaiser

The characters quickly stop being human around the third volume.

        • Hines Green III

I dunno man, .hack was just trying to make people think about what happen with as less info as possible. Either you don’t understand the plot or you do.

I haven’t watched SAO, but the way people hype it makes me think it’s just another disposable anime not worth it and the fanbase is hella retarded when you tell them they shouldn’t compare the two.

          • Brimfyre

Well it isn’t some revolutionary anime but it is a lot better than most stuff that has come out.  It’s kind of a slow burn.

They both have their merits.  It’s just when I think back on how the first four .hack games cost me over $200 for what should have been one game and then $150 for the sequel, which was a little more worth the value and all the TV shows and movies, some of the “mistique” of the plot seems like a scam.  The more we hide a simple plot behind layers and layers of Epitaphs of Twilights, the more money people will pile on us to find out what is going on in the World.

Yes SAO is a lot more simplified but I think .hack is needlessly convoluted to get your money.

    • Lol. But apparently a lot of ppl hate SAO w/h a passion. But just don’t care abt them if you think you liked it. Or you can just…um…have a civil conversation??

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

The fact that both series is actually different there though.T_T .hack is never about survival there while SAO is all about survival and clearing the game.

.hack is more on player solving what Harold had planned for the game there which is grooming her “daughter” or just actually about people spending their time playing their game in a big flawed game system which we know as “The World”.

      Totally NOT doing this again.

  • Kibbitz

I’m one or two stages past this one. It’s been fun so far, though it’s a tad overwhelming for me to have new people pop in about every stage without a bit of time to sit down with the team. I am immediately missing old characters from NxC but I am definitely enjoying the newcomers, like Akira and Pai. I’m not even a VF fan, but I still get chills everytime their theme plays when it’s their turn.

  • Karin Shita

What the heck? Does the enemy get the chance to attack at all? XD

    • Kibbitz

The video effectively jump cuts to the meaty bits, so the only attack that you see is the Sakura Taisen baddy hurting everyone with a Hissatsu. In the game proper, enemies can perform attacks and counterattacks normally, though there is no animation for those. You just see the allied unit taking damage on the map.

i dont like it…i cant wait for god eater 2

  • 5parrowhawk

I find it extremely weird that Erica and Gemini never use their Koubus (or whatever the new ones are called in ST5) in this clip. Especially as, IIRC, Erica’s cross-gun canonically fires rubber bullets.

That being said, Alisa and Vashyron’s dialogue was funny.

  • Nicholas Gatewood

Oh no, Smash bros. ripoff, let’s all get butthurt about it.

…or does that only work with Playstation All-Stars, even when the game mechanics are totally different and the developers proudly claim that they’re big Smash fans? Eh, either way, people like Hideki Kamiya need to chill the heck out.
