North America will get reacquainted with the Ragnarok series on October 30 when Xseed releases Ragnarok Odyssey for PlayStation Vita. Gravity Corp also has a proper sequel to Ragnarok Online - Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second.

Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second is live in South Korea in open beta status. When we met with Kazuki Morishita, President and CEO of Gravity Corp’s parent company Gungho Online Entertainment, we asked about the rest of the world.

"There are a couple of regions that we have decided on. As far as English speaking releases, we are planning to move forward," Morishita said to Siliconera. When will get to play Ragnarok Online 2? The release time frame is still to be determined, but hey it’s coming out in English and other languages eventually.

that’s good and all, but won’t it be too late when it appears in english regions ? Because grind-em-alls aren’t that well taken nowadays in mmorpg world nowadays, and then there’s pso2 coming up really soon too

I am currently playing the OBT and I can get from lvl 1 to 25 in three days and the lvl cap is like 50. So trust me it is not a grind fest at all.

My only complaint about RO2 is that not every RO job will be coming back…

    Eventually.

    Man, I hate that word.

I’d rather them wait until the game actually works, then release it into English fully and properly translated with all the content reasonably up to date with the Korean version.

As opposed oh, I don’t know…. launching it with tons of problems, then addressing player complaints by closing the servers for over half a year, and there after having the game updates be roughly a 8 months behind the Korean version.

Meh, it’ll end up like train wreck like the other game.

Played in cbt I found it boring honestly..

Which CBT? Because there were three or four spread out over ten years, each having a totally different system as they tried finding something that worked.

I just hope it doesn’t flop too hard.

Nobody wants this game anyway, they didnt understand what made the original RO so good and instead have made what looks like a ragnarok inspired WoW clone :|

Ragnarok Tactics is also coming soon to NA.

i can’t remember how many years ago i last played RO but when i first joined a server, that was like 6+ years ago, met my friends through that and we’re still friends today (about to go on 7 years). i can’t say i’m really interested in rangarok anymore, to me the whole series has gotten very boring to me. and how long has RO2 been going? i remember people talking about RO2 6 years ago and people not really liking it one bit and how has it been this long for the game to finally be ready for a real release?

I remember playing the Korean Beta for this quite sometime ago.  Really loved the game sadly the forced a IP restrictions and I was to lazy to setup a proxy.  Really looking forward to getting it in english.
