imageSega is bringing Virtual On to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can play the game with a DualShock 3 or you can pick up a Twin Stick arcade controller with Sanwa parts directly from Hori.

The Cyber Troopers Virtual On twin stick controller costs 30,000 yen ($380). Virtual On is slated for release on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this winter.

    >_> ohh my wallet

  • Godmars

A $400 controller to play a $9 game. A $9 game made in the 1980s with unchanged graphics.

And yes, I want to play it…

    • Kevadu

1980s?!  These graphics would have been mind-blowing in the 1980s.  The original Virtual On came out in arcades in 1996.

And in 1996 or ’97 I bought the Japanese Saturn version WITH twin stick controller, brand new, for $19…  Which I later sold, /sigh.

I always lost in this game. >_<..

  • Kevadu

Virtual On is one of my favorite games ever, so yeah, I’m seriously considering buying this.

    30000 yens??? That’s the Wii U’s price!!! =x

    • Freud_Hater

      It’s actually a little more than that…

I love how its worded “JUST 30,000 yen ($380).” That’s not cheap lol

i wonder if this will be recognized as a regular DS3 for other games.

  • Mike Pureka

But…VO:OT is already available on XBLA.  x.x

    • Red Veron

I think this is for the arcade port which runs on the model2 hardware.

      • 60hz

which means it’s VO:OM not VO:OT which ran on model3… they should bring VOOT to PSN (since my xbox has red-ringed)…

Tracking down a set of Dreamcast or Saturn sticks and modding them with a PS3 pcb would be tons cheaper.

With the limited production of these only for people ordering from Hori’s e-shop, exchange rate, and shipping(the box these come in are larger than ordering a PS3), good luck finding these for less than $450.

  • TrevHead

at that price haha no, I’ll stick with the 360′s asymetrical analogs

  • Budgiecat

    ow my butt
