Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Adds Ring Outs, Support Character Combos

By Spencer . October 18, 2012 . 4:29pm

naruto1CyberConnect2 is tweaking the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm fighting system. New battle stages in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 will have ring outs.

Jump also reports there are two character combos where you a support character can assist in an attack to create a powerful long combo.

In Free battle mode players can use other costumes like the Armored Naruto (called "another costume" in Japanese) and various other special costumes. Earlier this week, Namco Bandai announced a Goku costume for Naruto, which will be a pre-order bonus in North America.

They just need to add more combos period.

    • Reiko_Chan

Yes, the combos get pretty repetitive after a while.

      • sd28

could be worse it could be the ninja taisen series

        • Onizuka Gio Hikari

What?!?!? the ninja taisen series was legit

          • venomryu

the taisen series did get better later on but everbody had the same damn throw move and the ai get really cheap but i did like the 5 new charaters they add in the later games like towa never really like the combos in the taisen games

          • British_Otaku

AI Iruka Level 3 in Clash of Ninja 1 >>>> All other computers in the CON/GNT series that I’ve played. <_<

The throws had variety in another sense (how you could follow up on them, rather than them being a win state which is guaranteed to ground a foe and look nice), some of the bigger guys had different grabs iirc too. :/

        • Asura

GNT4 was the greatest Naruto game ever created by a factor of 1000x minimum. Not to mention that game has COMBO VIDEOS for crying out loud!

The Y cancelling system and footsie mechanics in that game were top-notch.

Balance factor was pretty bad though, gotta admit.

no where did i say the series sucked etc seems to me a bunch of you got upset when i stated that the games characters really haven’t had any big changes which lead to combos being the same or are we going to pretend that some haven’t been using the exact same move set and specials since they where introduced such as kiba or shino etc.

which is the series biggest weak point where as the narutimate hero series has done the opposite and has not given enough new mechanics and the fighting system depth.

personally my dream game will be a mixture of both series as the both game series’s have there pros and cons .

        • ZEROthefirst

In this corner we have someone who hasn’t truely played any of the Ninja Taisen games and defends the cinematic HD 1 button smash version. What a shame, I guess taking the time to learn combos and fight AIs that can put up a fight is a bad thing these days.

          • sd28

I like how that was the only thing you got from my post and not pointing out the series’s weakness which was and still is a lack of substantial up dates to characters and there move sets hell the game is still missing characters that where important to key arcs when they released.

make no mistake I am not some one who hates the ninja taisen series as I in fact play special with my friends all the time rather than the hd narutimate games as the series was at its best with narutimate 3 though we still play accel 2  from time to time.

personally I am looking forward to the next game and hope it improves enough to make people buy the games and the sales have been in decline for a while.

          • ZEROthefirst

You could have actually specified what you meant then. All you did was reply “could be worse it could be the ninja taisen series” to someone talking about how they wanted more combos. I know the Ninja Taisen series is no where near perfect butI’m not going to get the vague answer behind a few words.

    • StarWarudo

Add more combos or at-least change them up. I’m sick of seeing Neji’s recycled moveset.

    • sd28

they need to revamp the combat system in general even a light heavy attack set up would be a step up and allow for more combos and depth to the games

  • Christian Wright

you already dont get enough health in storm so why add ring outs?!

    (╯‵Д′)╯彡┻━┻

  • Luna Kazemaru

Lol ring outs are never a good thing

    • andref

Might prevent the continuous, “get to opposite edges of the arena; charge chakra; forward chakra dash; few combos and maybe a few jutsus and rinse and repeat.” Not saying it happens in all duels but happens enough to be repetitive

I think this is a mistranslation on Siliconera’s part. I think what they’re trying to say is that you can be “knocked out” of one part of the stage and to another “part”; kinda like how can be done in other fighting games (like if you’re hit hard enough, you can fly off a balcony and down to another part of the level).

    • StarWarudo

If that’s the case then I like it. Reminds me of DoA.

  • SoulEmbrace2010

RING OUTS?! Oh, f*** me… sideways

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_42AD7BXAVNLT35L7YDCMAILIOA dajuanb

This game is looking so good

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Dragon blade outfits would have been awesome too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mTafCOBBB0

  • ResidentMetroid

I get bored of just pressing one button for combos wish they’d do something to spice things up. This doesn’t sound like it.

    • ZEROthefirst

Maybe we’ll see the Gekitou Ninja Taisen (Clash of Ninja) series brought back with the WiiU at some point. For now I’ll go throw in GNT4 and have a blast :D

“New battle stages in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 will have ring outs.”
When did this turn into Mortal Kombat Deception? Or will the characters be so ashamed of being out of the ring out they will give up:
Naruto: Nine-tailed Fox, I will take your power! *out of ring* Well, I have to admit I lost. Maybe next year.
Sasuke: Danzo, your head will be mine! *out of ring* I guess I should give up on my revenge…

    • http://twitter.com/samael789 samael789

Why out of all of the games with ring-outs, Deception is your frame of reference? o.O

    • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

DBZ Budokai had ring outs in a stage or two. It just adds another facet of gameplay for those who want it.

      • LynxAmali

It’s actually just one, the World Tournament stage and that’s that stage’s gimmick instead of the destructible environments.

        • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

Thanks for having my back, dawg.

  • British_Otaku

I don’t think ring outs fit in this game, perhaps on a “it’s a fighting game” level but not considering the source material. They were an amusing extra in DBZ games as the franchise’s tournaments (short of Cell) featured them as the Win state… >_>

If it is knocking from one part of a stage to another… I’ve seen that in Naruto games dating back a long time ago, but a welcome addition, especially if it can be switched on or off (if it gets too tacky).

  • Giorno Giovanna

Ringouts would just promote running and jump guard wt Pain support

  • Donald Barnett

Hmmmm. Im not sure to be happy or mad. If they mean u can knock your opponent to another area of the stage and continue fighting then ok. That would be awesome. but if u knock em out and the battle is over…

  • Areuto

I know I speak for everyone when I say HELL NO!!!
