Three More Tales Of Xillia 2 Videos With Gaius, Jude, And Milla

By Spencer . October 18, 2012 . 12:43am

Gaius, the King of Rieze Maxia is a playable character in Tales of Xillia 2 and fights with a giant katana. Did he borrow that from Sephiroth?

Tales of Xillia lead characters Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell return for Tales of Xillia 2 too. Jude graduated medical school and works as a spirit researcher. No longer bound to her mission, Milla acts like a regular girl in Tales of Xillia 2.

Gaius will definitely be in my party in this game!

    • MrRobbyM

I already got this planned out. Ludger, Gaius/Milla, Alvin and Leia

  • refrain

Also poor Mira. Her soup couldn’t even beat Rudger’s.

  • Tales_of_Master

Gaius is gonna be in my party that’s for sure :D Hadoumeppuu spamming here I come.

  • Christopher Nunes

Celsius is back? That’s cool, and it’s nice to know Jude is trying to befriend her. Also what was the deal with Milla pushing or punching Ludger away? Did he get too close or say something? Someone needs to translate these character episodes.

I’m looking forward to this game! Looks awesome!

    •  She’s (jokingly) jealous that Elle likes Ludger’s soup better than hers.  Well, at least, that’s the voiceover.  The footage itself seems to be from another scene.

      • Christopher Nunes

Ah, so that’s the voiceover but the scene where she slugs Ludger is different. I wonder what happens there?

        Thanks for the info!

  • margherita mastropaolo

please namco bring this to europe

    • raymk

Don’t you mean just localize it for the west?

  • Freud_Hater

Yes, because Sephiroth was totally the first character to EVER use a long katana. I mean, it’s not as if those actually existed and were used by samurais, or something. Nah, Sephiroth’s got copyrights on this thing.

    • Syn

Its called Humor mate, you know, Seph is the most popular character to wield a really long Katana, hence a reference to him is a sort of pun on the use of long swords(Nodachi), lighten up, its kinda how almost every time someone see’s a hero with a truly massive great sword one cant help but think of cloud and the Buster Sword.

      • Freud_Hater

I know it’s humor, but they’re such easy jokes that it’s almost sad to make them at all. Though my reaction was a bit exagerrated, I stand by my annoyed, cynical comment.

    • Jesus christ….Humor my friend.

  • riceisnice

Jude graduated MEDICAL school and became a SPIRIT researcher. Isn’t that like… a contrast?

    • Their “medicine” is based on the spirits, you would understand if you played the game

Gaius battle style is so cool.. can’t wait till the game arrive this november :)

  • Since I’ll be playing this with a friend(s), I’ll have Jude,Gaius,Ludger and Elise :D

  • MrRobbyM

This reminds me, Bamco really needs to put more work into animating the characters in cutscenes. Maybe they wont because of possible problems with the DLC costumes but they’ve always been so stiff.

    • Yeah you’re right. But they’ve always been like this across all games. I’d say they were least stiff back when the games had 2D sprites. I guess give them a little more time with this new graphics engine.

      • MrRobbyM

That’s what I’m saying. They’ve always been stiff and it was excusable back then, even last gen but I expect a more polished looking game this generation. Especially from a franchise as big as Tales. It’s no biggie, but it’s a bit awkward to see such stiffness in characters.

  • Nitraion

Ow man i always wanted to use long katana in RPG…
Xillia 1 come out fast so i can know the story and Xillia 2 come out fast too lol XD

  • Demeanor

Gaius is awesome! Show us Muse now!
    Deteike, Jude, you’re boring XD
Millaaaa!!! Ahahah she refers to Jude as kono hito, a far cry from Alvin’s friendliness! And lol at the soup-centered dialogue XD Mira sure has changed, shimei kara, soup made XD

    • C.C.

If you played the first game then you know what happened to Milla.
The Milla in this game is different from the Milla from last game.
I need to prevent myself from saying any spoiler. I apologise.

  • raymk

They showed me how strong he is, but they also showed me how much TP he loses and this is a game that you need TP in.  The only real thing he’ll be good for is boss battles because you aren’t going to use that stuff in regular battles that much, not with that cost.

Anyway I wanna see more of muse in this game to see how she differs from TOX1.
