imageAfter finishing Downtown Smash Dodgeball, Miracle Kidz announced they were working on River City Ransom 2. The game was slated for release on WiiWare and PC in 2012, but all we’ve seen so far are a couple of sprites .

The bad news is River City Ransom 2 is on hold indefinitely. Miracle Kidz said development is frozen and instead of working with the Kunio-kun license the studio will focus on making completely original games.

Sad news.T_T Hope that they will be able to resolve the problem there and release the game later in the future. Maybe for 3DS Eshop? or even Wii U Eshop.

I’m assuming they [were] actually working on the Japanese license, but I find it weird how they [were] calling this part 2.  Not counting all the spinoff games (or were the beat-em-ups technically the spinoffs?), they had a couple of other beat-em-ups featuring the same characters, though not in the SD style that is normal for the series. BARF!

The beat-em ups are the main games (heck they practically invented the genre), although the SD style didn’t really start until Super Dodge Ball.

I don’t really understand why this was to be a sequel either. I guess they never fought Reihou Academy again, so perhaps that was going to be the plot.

Well that bums me out. I picked up the original on a whim a few years ago from the Wii Shop and LOVED it. =(

… I didn’t even know this existed, and yet now that I do know I find out it may never come to be.

I think this is the definition of “ignorance is bliss”.

    This is bullshit.
