D-Arts To Release Impressive Pokemon Mewtwo Figurine

By Yusouf . October 27, 2012 . 3:00pm

From Tamashii Nation 2012 comes a Charizard figurine, spewing fire (well, PVC fire), which is presumably his flamethrower attack. He seems adequately articulated with visible joints on neck, arms, wings and tail.

A D-Arts Mewtwo can also be seen in a very menacing pose while preparing to strike with a Shadow Ball. In another shot, Mewtwo can be seen fighting Mew, but it is currently unknown if Mew will be available as a separate D-Arts figure or will be bundled with Mewtwo.

According to information from Tomopop and JEFusion, D-Arts Mewtwo is planned for a March 2013 release and will cost 3,800 yen. For more pictures from the event, Dengeki has quite a collection of them.

  • Spider-Man

Good, I’ll be buying it. Never knew they had these kind of Pokemon figures. I mostly obsessed over Evangelions and Zoids.

    • Mecha Hisui

I think this might be the first time they’re doing Pokemon.

It basically took over a decade to put out Pokemon figures that were this articulated.

      • DurableTomb

Well, at least the figures of Voltorb, Electrode, Koffing, and Wheezing have been show/game accurate, articulation wise.

  • Asura

I’m eagerly awaiting figurine technology where having joints doesn’t make it look like the body got cut up by some psychotic torturer.

    • DurableTomb

You’d hate the “Manson Family Action Set” then. All but one of the figures looks like that. Funnily enough though, the one that doesn’t seems to have a faulty screw in it’s head. The screw broke off and now it rattles when shook. It’s from the same guys that made the Sweeny Todd figure (for an extra couple bucks, they threw in a figure of his girlfriend and an Easy Bake oven).

How would one automate that Charizard so that it can defend my house?

Thieves be getting BBQ round here.

    • Ben Sylvia

Nononono, I got a better one.

Give me one of those, but big enough to ride.

      • DurableTomb

Would you want it mounted on one of those coin operated platforms, like outside of the local grocery store?

P.S. in regards to Ben Sylvia’s previous post:
        That’s what she said.

    • DurableTomb

More like “Thieves be getting crushed under giant plastic lumps resembling billowing flames round here”.

Some days ago I read a joke about Mewtwo’s tail and where it starts… now I can’t see that Pokemon again without suffering…

    • DurableTomb

Ever heard the theory that Mewtwo’s neck is noticeably thin because the blood vessels that should be in his neck have been rerouted to the tube connecting his upper back to the back of his head in order to hasten blood flow from his heart to his brain, thus aiding in his enhanced cognitive and psychic skills?
*Shooting Star* The more you know.

  • Hinataharem

I can relive my childhood with Mew and Mewtwo

    • DurableTomb

You really want to relive your childhood? When you get the two figures, have someone hide the Mew from you and instruct them not to tell you where it is for one or two years. That, my friend, is nostalgia.

      • Hinataharem

        Beautiful idea!

  • Internet is Crash

Not bad for 3800 yen. I just hope the tax in my country doesn’t **** it up -__-

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

      Tax= Always **** up everything.T_T

  • Waha123

mew is packaged together with mewtwo.

  • DurableTomb

     D-Arts used Substitute. – It’s Super Effective!
Ronald used Payday. – There is no PP left for this move!
Ronald used Struggle. – Ronald fainted.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Shawn’s head use selfdestruct!! I always wanted a D-Arts Pokemon figure, They did some really great Digimon and Metabots ones

  • Maia Kasoya

Those are some pretty cool effects in that Mew and Mewtwo photo. But I read on MFC those aren’t gonna come with Mewtwo…

  • how tall is mewtwo going to be?
