Play J.J. Rockets, Keiji Inafune’s Mega Man-Like Game On iOS Right Now

imageJ.J. Rockets from Keiji Inafune’s studio Comcept and Marvelous AQL has an awesome set up. In this game you are the President of the United States who transforms into a superhero and shoots mutants.

Since J.J. Rockets is for mobile phones, Inafune designed it with short burst play in mind. You only have three minutes to blaze through a level and defeat a boss. After a stage ends, players can customize the President’s weapon by picking one of 200 types.

J.J. Rockets came out for Android back in September. It’s also available on iOS as a iTunes download today. You can download J.J. Rockets for free right here.

    …in Japan.

You can download the game just fine with a Japanese Itunes Store account. I just made one in about 2 minutes yesterday to download and play No More Heroes World Ranker. I’m sure you can figure out what you are doing through the Japanese.

      • I can barely work out how to spoof my device ID. I don’t think it’s worth the effort to illegitimately create a market account that doesn’t match my service region just to play a single Japanese app.

Downloaded the game but for the life of me i can’t figure out how to set-up a mobage account o.O – oh well.

EDIT: BAH Nevermind figured it out…

I still don’t understand why you’d but a Megaman style game on a system with no buttons.

    • Godmars

Because its all you can afford to put it on?

One thing I keep picking up on is that licensing fees have again become as issue for consoles and handhelds alike. And unlike the PS1/N64 era when Sony offered an alternative to Nintendo at a strategic time, no one’s laying out an economic welcome mat this time. You either have the money to cover releasing on a console, or put it out on a “free” platform like PC or iOS.

I’m pretty sure ios is not free though

        • Godmars

           Hence the quotes for “free”.

Production costs demands and standards aren’t on the same level as handhelds as well.

Air force one meets megaman, me likey

It’s a lot of fun and pretty robust, but damn there is a lot of text I don’t understand.  Hope for a translated version.  Kind of reminds me of Megaman meets ZHP.

How’d you get past the monage sign-in page? Did you have an account, or am i missing an obvious cancel button????
