Atelier Ayesha Sells 120,000 Units In Japan

By Spencer . November 1, 2012 . 4:57pm

Tecmo Koei had two strong sellers this fiscal year. Dead or Alive 5 sold 580,000 units worldwide and Atelier Ayesha reached 120,000 units in Japan. The PlayStation 3 role playing game came out on June 28 and is on track for a Western release. Tecmo Koei said they will publish Atelier Ayesha in Europe. During Anime Expo, NIS America said they have plans to release Atelier Ayesha in North America.

Ayesha is happy about her success and appears to be celebrating with steins presumably full of root beer.

    thats awesome

  • I hope they’re now working Mana Khemia 3.

    •  Mana Khemia was one of their lowest-selling sub-franchises in history; I don’t think either game broke 50,000 units lifetime. It’s very unlikely there will ever be another one.

    • Not to sound harsh, but that’s an empty hope. The Khemia series ended with 2. MK2 actually sold worse than the first one, and I don’t blame the low sales. The second game really sunk the series with its flat characters and flatter story.

  • I hope they’re now working Mana Khemia 3.

This is cool. I really love these Atelier series, hope we have a realese date soon.

BTW I love Keithgrif Special Finisher: LIKE A BOSS

    • Göran Isacson

… I believe that made my chest hair grow an extra inch or two.

      • Keithgriff is enough Man to fill the Man Quotient for, like, three Atelier games all by himself.

    • Mr_SP

       HE REALLY IS.

  • It’s so awesome that we’re getting more of the Atelier series. Not like before when we didn’t get the pre-Iris ladies’ games.

Wait huh? is the ‘Anime Expo’ thing something new? Cause we learned after that one statement way back that NISA did not have rights, but were in the process of trying to get them. And that’s pretty much been the situation since.

    • Yeah, I think they gave the release date for Ayesha over there as well. Being Spring 2013 alongside Neptunia V.

  • It’s good to see that Ayesha sold well enough to meet expectations.  I thought that it was an extremely well put together game, had a lot of polish, and was 100% a fun time.

The voice work in particular stands out to me as being top tier which kind of makes me hesitate about a localization, but the game itself is too good to be denied.  Any RPG fan should be dying to pick this up when it comes out.

    • Why hesitate? They always left the JPN voices in the game in their localizations until now.

I’m glad to hear this series is still doing very well. I’m hoping there will be a solid U.S. release date soon as I am itching to play this real badly, I haven’t played this yet and I already like everything about it.

  • Elvick

I love the game engine they use. Combined with their art, it’s so good.
