rental3Following in Level-5 International America’s footsteps, Level-5 announced Japanese gamers will be able to purchase Guild 01’s games separately on the Nintendo eShop.

Liberation Maiden (which we wrote about earlier!) will be available on November 14 for 800 yen ($10). Aero Porter, Crimson Shroud, and Weapon Rental Shop de Omasse will be available at a later date.

Comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai created Weapon Rental Shop de Omasse which has players run a weapon shop in a fantasy setting. So far, Level-5 have not announced any plans to bring this title overseas.

Well this pretty much scuttles any notion of Guild 02 doesn’t it?  I can’t imagine many consumers will be willing to pay for another grab bag of different games if they figure that down the line they’ll be able to pay only for the games that appeal to them individually.

Not that there was necessarily going to be any sort of sequel project anyway, but I think now it’s safe to say that it’s not even a question.  I’ll be interested to see if Level 5 sees success with these.

    •  Or they’re promoting it further ahead of a 02 release.

    • Guild 02’s already been announced: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_01#Sequel

Presumably it will receive the same treatment.

I think that weapon shop thing seems like more fun than Aero Porter.
