Convenience Stores Distributing Monster Hunter Frontier Online Xbox 360 Demo

By Spencer . November 13, 2012 . 2:19am

imageWhile Microsoft isn’t reaching out to Japanese developers like they did with Mistwalker and Q? Entertainment, they haven’t totally forgotten about Japan either.

They’re running a promotion with one of 7-Eleven’s main competitors, FamilyMart. Stop by any FamilyMart convenience store and purchase 700 Microsoft points through a Famipoint terminal (it’s a machine that sells different point cards) and you’ll get a Monster Hunter Frontier Online trial code as a bonus. The demo requires Xbox Live Gold, but will let players get to Hunter Rank 2 without paying for a Hunter License. After that you have to sign up for a subscription.

Monster Hunter Frontier Online players can also get a hunter starter set plus the demo by purchasing 1,400 Microsoft points or a special set of twin swords (that are actually axes) and the demo by purchasing 3,500 Microsoft points. Special items will be available until December 10. Monster Hunter Frontier Online trail codes will be given out until January 31, 2013.

Given how popular Souls and Capcom’s own Dragon’s Dogma is in the west, it really bloody puzzling as to why Capcom continues to ignore releasing this in the west.

It’s only one of the biggest IP’s Capcom has.

But hey this is Capcom we are talking about, where the highest eschalons at Capcom HQ are totally out of touch with western gamers. I just hope they have more Seth like ppl who can champion western games.

Because this online game need monthly payment and you have seen how many monthly payment online game end up failing there. Hell, i don’t even think Dragon Quest 10 will be succesful even if they bring the game here considering how many gamers already said that they don’t want montly subscription.

They are now trying to bring Mon Hun Tri-G Ultimate to the west with online and HD too. So i would think that they actually care for us more than the Japanese as we will get the best version while the Japan market needs to keep purchasing updates and updates there.

“Given how popular Souls and Capcom’s own Dragon’s Dogma is in the west…”

Dragon’s Dogma wasn’t popular in the West. It’s sales were extremely underwhelming.
