The Original Katamari Damacy Is Rolling On To PS3 As A PS2 Classic

imageNamco Bandai will re-release the game that started the rolling over junk craze, Katamari Damacy, as a PS2 Classic in Japan.

Katamari Damacy was a surprise hit for Namco at the time and spawned a whole franchise. The Prince of Cosmos even has a cameo in Keroro RPG which was designed by the Tales team.

Katamari Damacy will be available on November 21 for 1,200 yen ($15). Japan’s PlayStation Store has a different list of PS2 Classics including Contra: Shattered Soldier, Dragon Force, and Siren.

  • I’d rather have an HD Collection.

    Now thats a classic!

  •  I would love to see the HD collection in Vita since Touch my Katamari is rather a disappointment.

I still had fun with it. It is super lacking in content though. It was clearly a PSN game pushed to budget retail. Like Kung Fu Rider for Move. That didn’t have a platinum either and the move controls weren’t that good.

It’s a shame that Namco Bandai didn’t really do much for Vita owners with any of their stuff near launch. The new ways to control the katamari were spiffy, but they didn’t really utilize it to the extent they could have. And they’ve done nothing outside of Japan since that I can think of.

      *sigh* Oh well.

  •  ugh japan only huh >.<

  • Best PS2 game.
