Jump says Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission covers story arcs from the Super Saiyan saga all the way to Dragon Ball GT. A new opening animation is also being made for the game.

Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission is scheduled for release in Japan on February 28, a little bit before its spring 2013 release window. First print copies also includes a set of actual Dragon Ball Heroes cards as a bonus.

    The licensed anime games seem like a barometer for whatever the most popular hardware in Japan is at any given moment.  Since very few of these games have much development time behind them, and since Namco-Bandai is competent to release software for any hardware they please, they tend to target very specifically the system that is running hot right now.  Not long term install base, not best historical software attach rate, but whatever system is in most people’s hands right at this moment.

    So for the last two years or so it was the PSP that most of the Dragon Ball or Gundam or whatever games were coming out on.  Before that it was the PS3 for a while.  Now it’s the 3DS (I remember there was a limited edition Gundam bundle a while a go too).  I’m gonna guess that the 3DS will continue to be the landing place of choice for licensed anime games for the next year or two.  Until the next platform comes along and starts running hot… the Orbis won’t be out for a while and the Vita will need a year or two at least to get it’s act reversed.  And the Wii U?  It’s a fine system, but I don’t expect too much Dragon Ball on it.  3DS is gonna be it for a while.

       xbox leading in japan you do realize that this makes you look crazy no ofense but 3ds is the mos tlikely candidate now and in the future with the ps3 and wiiu being the next likely .

  • No No

    Might be good, Legend of the Super Saiyan was my favourite rpg DBZ game so the card system can work.

    I wanna say thanks to the Dragon Ball fans, for actually bringing in funding for Tales.

    With the prior out of the way, last I checked, GT is not an official sequel; DB Online is! >_<;

    • Grenalie

      GT was pretty crap and DB online is so far into the future it doesn’t really matter.

  • Otoya

    I can guarantee there is no English version for this…..

    • Just Tim

      But, Dragon Ball makes more $$$ than Tales would on a worldwide basis.

      • Otoya

        I hope they will do it but is hard.

        Not niche DB card games.
