  • There are so many better song choices for XIII than Fang’s Theme. Blah, oh well, it’s a good compilation overall.

“Battle with the four fiends” and this Battle Melody looks like it will be awesome.
“Phantom Forest” and “Theme from Final Fantasy V” too. Gotta get this soon as I can.

  • nb

I think they could have saved space with some repeated tracks and put previously unreleased material (that needed to be orchestrated).

  • OatMatadoQuatro

They could have remade it with the lyrics being easy to understand…

    • AzuNo17

      Shouldn’t the Blackmages cover that?

      • OatMatadoQuatro

I think they did that with a female singer but it backfired. The lyrics were easy to undersand but the singer’s voice wasn’t appealing

    • Morricane

Otherworld as an *orchestral* arrangement? Umm…I don’t know if I wanted that.

  • AzuNo17

A battle melody compilation?!? I’m beyond sold!

  • Just Tim

I’m curious about the Crystal Kay version, since I grew up with the Faye Wong ver.

  • Sheimi12

Why is there never any love for searching for friends? Still a great selection and some that a rarely covered

  • Not enough XIII tracks.

    • Alfy Masamune

thats because XIII soundtrack sucks, like the game.

      • Suicunesol

Oh come now. Don’t be like that. Masashi Hamauzu did a good job.

        • revenent hell

I have to agree with alfy in a sence. The soundtrack while not hideous was hardly good either….It was ok. I neither liked nor hated it. It was simply ok and fit the game.

      • This is getting old.

    • Morricane

      Not enough XII tracks!

  • Elvick

They should have did Devil’s Lab or Forever Rachel. I mean, yeah, Phantom Forest is awesome, so is Opera (that one is pretty much always going to happen).

But Devil’s Lab and Forever Rachel are, at least for me, two of the most underrated tracks from FFVI.

  • Suicunesol

YAAARG just 2 tracks does not even touch the grand scale and epicness of VI’s tunes. Opera is great, but it’s practically the only orchestral composition of VI’s music they’ve done. They did it for Tour de Japon too. What I really want to hear is Searching for Friends and Ultros’s Battle Theme. The Ending Credits would be a nice compromise too. :(

  • Ferofax

I’m still in love with Angela Aki’s version of the song (Eyes On Me), but I’m glad Liberi Fatali and Balamb Garden are included.

  • Not enough tracks to captivate all of Final Fantasy’s awesomeness but It’s understandable, the list would’ve been too long if they were to pick my favs xD

My personal favs are: (Sides than the ones of the album)
    FF I – Main Menu

… Yup! Too many! And I’ve didn’t included Battle themes and some other adrenaline kind of songs! Musta been hard for them to pick just 2 or 3 of each entry x__x

    • OatMatadoQuatro

Mine would be FF4’s Red Wings FF13’s Blinded by Light, FF10’s Battle with Seymour, FF7’s Cid Theme, FF8’s Ragnarok, Crisis Core’s SOLDIER Battle, and almost every regular boss theme

  • Omega

Too bad there is no Melodious of Life!

  • Canceris

Im courious to see if Roth and Uematsu make some changes to the already orchestrated songs from Distant Worlds. Its also reasoneably that theres not much FFXI onwards songs, as thats the marks of Nobuo’s departure as main composer. However, more FFXIV would be nice (and Nobuo composed it).

    • I don’t like XIV at all but Im pretty curious about the soundtracks now, which ones would you recommend to listen to sir? :3

      • Canceris

Pretty much the Main theme and the battles theme, they are very reminiscent of older themes (or have an feel or esque).
The game itself may be not good, but Nobuo did compose an amazing soundtrack.

  • Chaos Order

Not worth it, unless these are new compositions and recorded versions. Atlas most of these songs are the common pick*. I wish they chose more rare and unused songs

  • David Swink

I just got this in the mail. it’s the exact music set (a bit different order) as the 25th anniversary symphony. so if you didn’t get to go. I would highly suggest picking this up. comes with a full set of the MP3s
