If you take the tits out, does this game still holds its own compared to other fighters? because from what I’ve seen in videos, it seems to be pretty bland

    • Bloodios

I originally thought the game is just some fan-service rubbish, but that all change when I actually play it. In my opinion, as far as fighting games go, it’s surprisingly enjoyable. I’m seriously hooked at the moment. Heck, I didn’t expect it to pull me off Persona 4 Arena and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 this easily (well, the latter kept crashing on my PS3, so…)

    • MrSirFeatherFang

It definitely has depth in it’s mechanics and it is easy to pick up as well. Definitely one of my favorite fighting game series as I’ve been playing them as a kid. The tits make a nice bonus as well :D

    • Herok♞

yes it does it has a rock paper scissors like system where you can’t be sure what is going to happen next, no one even buys the normal games for the fanservice but instead for the great gameplay, I completely recommend it, I would even say you should pick up DoA 5 over other 3D fighters from this year.

    • Göran Isacson

The games do have speed, depth and interesting mechanics going for it, I must say. The story IS dumber than your average fighting game and there’s not much characterization going on when there IS a story to be told, but the majority of characters are at least likable enough that you can grin and bear it. Now this is a personal nitpick, but I would like to see the characters have more variety in their movements because it can feel like a lot of characters, particularly the female ones, play alike. But still, it’s good, fast fun. Not top-tier echelon stuff, but definitely solid.

Still waiting for the Opoona costume for Zack, directly from DoA: Dimensions…

  • Neppygear

Helena, Christie, and Tina. You hos are way too perfect, just saying.

  • omeganeko

*starts reading down the article* OK nothing to great, might skip these on….*reaches Tina* …SOLD

  • reused costumes, reused costumes everywhere.

  • Muffum

Oh my god. A costume pack that actually has more costumes for male characters than for female. Truly, Team Ninja has bestowed upon us an early Christmas miracle.

  • Learii

i pick it up the formal pack just for Leifang she look cute with that costume =D

  • Nitraion

    Helena… hmm

  • Setsu Oh

can t wait for the complete edition…….unless they are money wores like capcom and its ssf4ae costumeless concept.

  • Ooh la la~
    Dat Tina! *w*

Kasumi and Helena are pretty tempting too!

  • Suicunesol

That’s strange… how come the Virtua fighter characters aren’t getting additional costumes? I know the costumes here aren’t brand-new (since they’re old designs), but it can’t be that there are no Virtua fighter costumes because the developers don’t want to make new ones…?

    • BringTheFate

It’s probably more that Sega’s causing trouble with making them, since they likely have to have Sega’s approval for any VF character costumes.

  • BringTheFate

Thank you, Team Ninja for finally listening to us girls and giving us some more men! Nevermind that you had only a few people to still give ANY to so it had to happen eventually. I’m just glad you took the suggestions to sexualize the characters equally by giving them some nice swimsuits– Oh. Wait.
No, you had to go the lazy route and give them awful costumes. Bass’ is the only good one of the guys, and I’m really not sure if it’s one it’s been done before, like most of the others. Even Mila’s, as much as I like it on her, is a female replica of one of Bass’ defaults, so even she still doesn’t get an original one to call her own. The tuxedo also looks better on Rig than Eliot.

    • raymk

Well to be fair they don’t seem to be listening to anyone. I thought they’d at least hear us when we say no more costume swaps. Old costumes I don’t mind we want old costumes but most of these or swaps of in game costumes and as much as I like lei-fang dress on other females enough is enough. At least start giving the pack more than 4 characters if they are going to do that, where is tecmo’s community manager at?

      • BringTheFate

Tecmo’s community manager is counting the cash in his pocket.

But I do understand that it’s not just them ignoring the female fans. It’s a solid game, but they’re treating the DLC horribly as a whole. Especially with there being only 4 costumes per pack, it’s a complete waste of money and MS Points. I’ve heard the argument against boycotting with your wallet that they’d just can DLC altogether since it wouldn’t make them any money, but honestly…I think I’d prefer nothing to this crap.

        • raymk

Yeah they really shouldn’t be skipping out on their female fanbase either as you need both fanbases to help sells. Seems they barely even get female costumes right so I’d almost say its hopeless when it comes to the guys. I’m serious when I said where is tecmo’s community manager. We need someone or else they will keep doing this.

          • BringTheFate

I was being serious, too. They do need a new person handling it since the current one obviously just cares about the money and nothing for the community. The bad thing about that is, it only takes a few individual costumes to appease people, so Tecmo’s probably looking at it going “Well you got this, this, and this. Be happy.” even if it’s not worthwhile.

  • raymk

These are a lot of reused costumes sigh…Oh well I do really love that china pack helena costume(even if it is a leifang reskin) and her formal costume as well(even if it is a re-skin of lisa’s alt) so I will get both of those.

These aren’t the christmas alts I take it as they said those will release in december.

  • Göran Isacson

I don’t know what kind of party would accept what Tina’s wearing to be “formal wear” but I think I’d like it. That aside Bass is looking hella sweet in that mafia-get up, even if I have no idea why he’s wearing it, Eliot doesn’t really make that butler suit work for him (then again neither could Rig), the chinese pack is… sort of nice but lacks personality (and Brad just isn’t Brad if he doesn’t look scruffy darnit!) and Milas weird G.I Joe outfit is something I’ve no idea what it is, but in the end? None of it matters. This pack is the greatest pack.

For Zack is finally reunited… with his tellytubby uniform. That’s all I could ever ask for. That’ll do, Team Ninja. That’ll do.
