Level-5 Rolling Out Two Games On December 27

By Spencer . November 28, 2012 . 4:23pm

Hello, Santa? This is Level-5. Can you work overtime, at least for Japan because we’re releasing two games after Christmas. We imagine something like that happened Level-5’s offices because Fantasy Life and Inazuma Eleven: The Legend of Endou Mamoru are scheduled to come out on December 27.

Inazuma Eleven: The Legend of Endou Mamoru was supposed to come out on November 29, but like many Level-5 titles was delayed at the last minute.

    Level-5 is stupid.

    • riceisnice

Maybe not stupid… But this is weird. Does Japan work differently concerning holiday shopping?

      Stop acting like a jerk.

      bububu…but I like Level-5 especially soccer/football or layton T-T

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Don’t forget Dark Cloud, Time Travellers, and of course the coming Fantasy Life.^_^

  • Lazulis

I wonder why they won’t be able to release them in time for Christmas…

  • MrRobbyM

I’m hoping Fantasy Life does well enough to make a localization seem possible. I think it’d fair well over in the US of A.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I am really hoping that these game will do well but prospect is not looking really great.T_T
Animal Crossing is still going crazy, Tomodatchi Collection i think is coming too? Konami Magician Quest is also coming in December. All of those games had almost the same aspect as Fantasy Life.
I can only hope that Konami’s and Level-5’s will sell well enough for us outside of Japan had some chance of getting the game.

      • MrRobbyM

That’s what I was thinking. If they didn’t release so close to each other it’d probably sell much better even though they are both very different with just vaguely similar themes.

    • Elvick

I don’t know, at this rate I’d say 90% of what Level-5 makes we’ll never see. Probably more 80% for Europe, since they get Inazuma Eleven at least.

Makes me sad, because literally all their games interest me.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      I know right?

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well, Japan everyday is more or less Christmas lol. They are spending their whole money for game like everyday.^_^

  • Unless some kind of miracle happens, Fantasy Life is pretty much effed at this point. Coming out during the holiday season when people will be too busy buying Animal Crossing to notice another game similar to it is madness. Magician’s Quest is likely going to fall victim to the same fate, too.

Also, I guess Level 5 are banking on Otoshidama to give kids incentive to pick up Inazuma Eleven sometime after its release, since they’ll be releasing it around New Year’s. That may work in the case of that particular game, but I don’t know if it will with Fantasy Life.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

For Inazuma Eleven, maybe it will do well but for Fantasy Life, i am not really sure. Fantasy Life if you asked me, is more for teenage group market as that is the market that really loves the social feeling and it surely not going to be part of the Otoshidama gives.

      • Yeah, agreed. Fantasy Life skews a little older and probably shares an audience in common with games like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon/Rune Factory. It’s going to get steamrolled unless L5 get very lucky.

Level-5 games almost never sell well.

Now they are self-destructing even more by launching two games on Christmas where people will buy everything else instead.

Hopefully they’ll still localize them like they did with Guild 01 despite its low sales.

Not a good idea… They really should delay IE to next year. You don’t want one of your bigger series coming out the same day as a new IP.
