Digimon Adventure Lets You Customize Your Stats

By Laura . December 2, 2012 . 4:30pm

The official website for Digimon Adventure has been updated with the complete character page and some news on gameplay.

There’s nothing new for fans on the character page; however, it does reveal that the game will only take evolutions as far as the shows take it. For example, we won’t be seeing Hououmon evolving from Piyomon because the furthest evolution we see is Garudamon.

As for gameplay, we saw in a recent trailer that it was possible to customize Digimon stats through the use of a hexagonal grid system. These grids are called Skill Panels. They differ with each Digimon and grow larger as they level up.

You can equip DigiPieces on the grid (like puzzle pieces), which will give the Digimon different stat boosts and new skills. DigiPieces are obtained through synthesis or item drops. Some of the rarer ones can be created through Synthesis Recipes.

Just the other day I saw the entirety of Digimon Adventure on DVD at a store. With that, plus Digimon Xros Wars coming stateside (as Digimon Fusion) it really would be the perfect time to bring a game like this over. Though of course that won’t happen…

      Adventure 2 is also getting a re-release.

I’m pretty sure they all are, since Saban purchased the entire series back from Disney and they want to build interest back for the brand.

I hope so, the show brings back memories. I wouldn’t mind picking up the games.

It would be awesome if that happened, so it won’t.

Especially if the series is still under Namco Bandai. :/

      • Renaldi Saputra

Namco Bandai usually don’t localize any anime related game except naruto and one piece..

        • Elvick

          Exactly.

Rats, I was hoping that the rest of the Digimon would get their Mega forms (though that would probably be overkill….).

hum… a grid, eh? seems like Final Fantasy X’s grid…

Since we did not even see the other digimon game I won’t get my hopes up high but it would be a blast if we could actually buy it in the US and Europe.

It’s a bit of a downer that we won’t see the mega levels. But at the same time it might be a hint that we won’t see Agumon/Patamon/Tailmon evolve into Numemon time after time until we get the right training path? xD

    • Renaldi Saputra

actually dude, concept in anime is totally different in game (epsecially digimon world 1)

It seems like my DW1/Re-digitize related joke totally didn’t work, sorry for the confusion. ^^”

God this sound amazing and hopefully we get to see in the states

    • Renaldi Saputra

I hope so but chance is still low even though Digimon Fusion will be soon in the states.. I think that situation won’t affect
