Players can load save data from The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC for PSP and continue their game with the Kai version. You can also import clear game files from The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky or The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC Kai HD Edition into SC Kai HD Edition.

Falcom combined both UMD discs into one Blu-ray and stuffed in extra content. You get a 44 track DRM free soundtrack, a collection of custom themes, and a digital calendar with Trails in the Sky SC illustrations.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC Kai HD Edition comes out on April 25, 2013. The game costs 4,830 yen ($58).

    I want this.

  • Interface23

    Hey. Hey XSEED

    • psycho_bandaid

We all just thought the exact same thing at the exact same time.

      • Ereek

I think anyone who has played FC came into this article with the same exact thoughts. I know I certainly did.

    • http://www.siliconera.com Spencer

On behalf of all the readers here, when I talked to Kondo-san from Falcom I expressed how much Western gamers want SC a couple of times in my interview. I think the next time I see him and ask about SC he’s going to summon that Azure Dragon to eat me :P

      • Ladius

Thanks, it’s really nice of you guys to let them know Trails has a passionate fanbase here :)

Sales may still be disappointing, but the series has definitely a lot of potential, and if XSeed is able to bring it to Steam (not that there aren’t even more option, if they still want to pursue PSN releases) I think it could be far more successful considering it has already a fantastic reputation.

      • psycho_bandaid

Hopefully your death will not be in vain.

        • http://twitter.com/AyoubAzougarh Ayoub Azougarh

          i hope that as well.

      • kactaplb

is there a reason why xseed hasn’t announced sc? did the first games sales do poorly?

        • DesmaX

It’s way too much dialogue for Xseed to translate

        • tesuji2

It is a lot of text to translate but xseed did say that FC sold poorly.

    • JazzyMan123

Aw c’mon guys, can’t you give them a break?

    • FFmax

I’m pretty sure that they’re still working hard on this game. It’s just that there are numerous factors against it; it’s on the psp, a huge amount of text to translate, etc.

    • http://blackstar2661.deviantart.com/ SilverSpades

Forgive my stupidity/ ignorance, but can someone explain this? I don’t get it.

  • JazzyMan123

    Here comes those “comments” again…

    • http://www.facebook.com/JaeWhy SasuleUchiha

And when you think about it don’t you always comes with those “reply” too?

      • JazzyMan123

        Sure I do.

    • M’iau M’iaut

Checks those “comments” and only sees folks sharing passionate interest in a positive way. If things change, we as always will take note. Otherwise those are exactly the types of comments we encourage.

      • JazzyMan123

Okay, sorry for my post then. Just feeling rather tired about certain comments such as begging (and one way back ragging on about how it was “ridiculous” on how XSEED was taking it’s time). I have no problem with the light-hearted ones.

        • M’iau M’iaut

Noted, but at the moment talks of wished for games haven’t deteriorated to the point of the console requests. Those too often went the ‘so I can play it on a REAL system’ route. As I said, we try to always be watching.

          • JazzyMan123

Well, certainly not here, but elsewhere like gematsu…but that’s besides the point…ahhh I think I’ll just keep quiet now.

  • http://twitter.com/ramestre Rafael Mestre

Just made something really sillly: I retweeted this to XSEED Games…

You never know what might actually work. Maybe that Last Story thing that is happening make them feel generous. They still have the moral obligation to bring us the first TitS in HD. *see what I did there?*

    • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

I don’t think either “moral” or “obligation” means what you think it means.

      • http://twitter.com/ramestre Rafael Mestre

I wasn’t being serious. When it comes to entertainment, I don’t think anyone have any kind of obligation at all.

I want FFVI remake. I want Breath of Fire again, remake or new chapter. I want all TitS I can have (ops, did it again) in English. Legaia 3. Legend of Dragoon 2. Golden Sun 4. Persona 5. Rogue Galaxy HD. Final Fantasy Tactics 2 (or FFTA 3).

But, as a fan, only I have an obligation. Or two: make my voice be heard by the companies somehow and keep buying their games. :-)

Sorry if I made my answer sound so serious ^_^

        • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

When it comes to entertainment, I don’t think anyone have any kind of obligation at all.

I think this idea could/should be more widespread.

  • Romangelo

Hope they both will be localized

  • http://simplephilistine.wordpress.com/ Arla

Am I the only bugged by “HD” games? I mean they’re cleaned up and the resolution is higher but if the assets aren’t in HD I don’t think they should be labeled as such. Sure, technically they might be HD but come on. These games are just upscaled/upresses or whatever the hell the term is.

    Yea, kinda off-topic.

    • Ladius

Apparently Falcom is using the hi-res assets of the original PC versions for those Remaster, not the upscaled PSP ones.

      • http://simplephilistine.wordpress.com/ Arla

Hm? Wouldn’t they have been downscaled for PSP?

        • Ladius

What I meant is that the PS3 version is going to use the original PC hi-res assets instead of upscaling the low-res PSP ones like you seemed to imply in your first post. The PSP version obviously had to downscale the PC assets, but that doesn’t mean the PS3 version needs to use its assets when the originals are far better.

    • Draparde

      PSP-Upscale remaster! …just doesent sound as cool~

lol i imagine they may use it to not confuse people with diffrent types of remasters. (or they could really mean only some things remastered, ect)

    • http://eonhack.blogspot.com theclaw

The PSP screwed up these games. The small text and generally somewhat fuzzy look wasn’t at all what their creators built for PC.

    • http://www.facebook.com/JaeWhy SasuleUchiha

I like HD remastered game. Sometimes it’s a game that I missed out last gen like Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter series. With HD remastered, I don’t only get to play them in HD but 3 game in one disc too.

      • http://simplephilistine.wordpress.com/ Arla

I’m not complaining about them being re-released. I missed a lot of games from last generation so playing upscaled version is nice and I’m fine with it. It’s just, labeling them as “HD” I think is misleading.

  • landlock

Good. This is about the only chance we have of playing these now. Though they are still releasing new PSP games both digitally and even at retail.

    • bVork

Well, no, there’s always the PC versions. XSEED could localize those and put them up on Steam, like they did with two of the Ys games.

  • Lester Paredes

While I’m glad it’s gotten an HD make-over, I want to see it’s sequels much, much, MUCH more.

    • ronin4life

Is this a remake of the first one that did come over for psp?

      • Lester Paredes

sorry for the late reply. Yep, it is.

  • kroufonz

let’s hope it’s leaving japan, and if this would be localized, chance is after they remaster all 3 game and released it as trilogy outside japan.

  • Go2hell66

wait so this is a direct sequel to sora no kiseki and its not zero no kiseki
cuz i know i definitely never saw that dragon in the 1st game.

how did i not know about this game
    >:(

    • DuskSharkEX

This is a direct sequel to the first Sora no Kiseki. It literally takes place the morning after it.

    • Ladius

The Trails series is as follows: Trails in the Sky-> Trails in the Sky SC2 -> Trails in the Sky The 3rd3 -> Zero no Kiseki -> Ao no Kiseki. The first three games make up the Liberl arc, while the last two are set in Crossbell. There is also another Trails game in development, scheduled for a September 2013 release.

  • Triplicity

Whoops, guess we’ll be getting Second Chapter localized after all.

    The PSP version.

  • s07195

    Estelle’s name…
    *sunglasses*
    seems much more bright now.
    YEAAA- is shot.

  • Mister_Nep

Yay. This is very good news. I pre-ordered the first chapter, and so I’ll be getting that next week. Good to know I can import the second chapter after I finish the first one.

  • http://twitter.com/VXLbeast VXLbeast

Don’t play these games, but this is awesome. Looks great, and the ability to transfer saves is awesome.

  • Bobthegreat

I don’t have to swap UMDs: Check
It supports my PSP save files: Check
Regnart looks way more detailed: Check
We get DRM free soundtrack once again: Check

Yes yes, once again I’ll be there day one (should get Sora no Kiseki FC in two weeks). Thank you so much, Falcom!

  • Jirin

    XSeed, you have your task.

  • Budgiecat

I like the PSP graphics better. Sometimes HD is not a good thing (See Silent Hill Collection)

  • Sergio Macellaro

When we will play this game?
    PSN is acceptable. steam NOT.
    F-u-c-k steam

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I really love HD release for Falcom here.^_^ After all, it will sales more around to increase the awareness for the series.

However, i hope this one will not be plagued by glitches like the recent LoH Evo on Vita.T_T

  • JazzyMan123

I hate to be a downer here, but seeing how this is a PSP Remaster, I wonder if it can even be released at all in the West. And before you guys say, “b-b-b-but GoW Origins”, I should point out that GoW: Origins, while based on PSP games, was a proper port with trophies and the like. It was not a PSP remaster. In fact, there hasn’t been a single PSP remaster released in the US. PSP remaster games are essentially being emulated (though they may contain higher res artwork and such, the code isn’t changed), so it’s a bit different.

The problem is that SCEA is really strict about trophies. That’s reason enough to block games as far as they’re concerned.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Then they should put the extra effort in to do what NISA did with Cross Edge and add trophies to the Western version.

  • Guest

    I’m freaking pumped!
