What’s In The Soul Sacrifice Demo Anyways?

By Spencer . December 6, 2012 . 12:02pm

souls1Sony Computer Entertainment will release a downloadable demo for Soul Sacrifice on December 20. This demo is pretty big since it contains the first part of the game, the Magician’s Test chapter. In single player mode, a female wizard will travel with you as a partner.

The Soul Sacrifice demo supports multiplayer over ad-hoc or Wi-Fi. Players will be able to take on multiplayer quests and fight three different bosses. Cerberus, a knight who wanted to defend his town and turned into a monster, is in the demo.

Your character’s level and items can carry over from the demo into the retail version of Soul Sacrifice, which comes out on March 7 in Japan.

  • I assume this demo is Japan only…

  • Zal_Yagun

Am I correct in assuming this demo is for japan only?

    • @darron13:disqus Yes, this demo is only available via the Japanese PSN.

  • TheTimeMage

Yeah demo is Japan only so you have to wipe/deauthorize your memory card to play it. That is why I plan on keeping an extra 4GB card to play demos from other regions. Also I am fan of this game’s art style.

  • What about an English US (/UK) demo.

  • Cephrien

i’m seriously thinking about buying another memory card, just so i can play this

  • Domii

It’s crazy that in most of Spencer’s articles I have to scroll down the comment section in other to figure out if something is Japan only or not. Be more clear please.

Anyway, I’m really hoping this demo comes over stateside since i’m so pump for this game. This will probably be the closest Demon/Dark Souls experience on the go we’ll get for now.

    • The simplest way to tell is to look at the icon above the headline, and see which region is mentioned. For example, it says “Japan” right there on top.

      • Domii

Can’t see it on the mobile version. Either way, being a little more clear like you do in your articles, will be greatly appreciated.

I seriously don’t understand how they did something like this when the Vita is just 2-years old. Making a game is already hard, but starting a new franchise in such a pompous way really gives me the shivers. Thank you, Sony.

    • Syn

Actually, the Vita isnt even a year old yet, it will be on the 17th of December(it was released 17th December in Japan) NOT 2 years, its a toddler still, and its even younger in western regions. As for your comment, can you please re-phrase, am having a hard time understanding what you mean.(for the sake of discussion)

      • ragingmerifes

Actually, game companies get a development kit before a console is released, so they were developing for the Vita before it was released. And how can I rephrase the whole “it’s amazing how they made such a great in so little time” without sounding repetitive or prolix? Hmmm…

  • But, but December 20th seems so far away. I want to play it now >_<

  • Nice, it’s starting to really shine in those screens. I will probably play a lot of this when it comes out.

  • Dragon246

Looks amazing, even more so for a game this early in vita cycle.

  • neetyneety

Hope this gives the Vita the boost it needs in Japan. This system needs a lot more lovin’~

Boss. I like when that happens. Hopefully they release the demo outside of Japan too.
