With Aero-Cross Canceled, The Namco Generations Series Ends Too

By Spencer . December 6, 2012 . 2:34am

Namco Bandai had an idea to modernize Namco’s arcade classics kind of like they did with Pac-Man Championship Edition. And so, the Namco Generations label began in 2010 with Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and continued in 2011 with Galaga Legions DX.

The last time we heard anything about Namco Generations was in April when the publisher canceled Dancing Eyes. Today, Namco Bandai announced Aero-Cross, a re-imagining of Metro Cross that we haven’t heard about for a year, is canceled.

With no more Namco Generations titles in the pipeline, it looks like the age of modernized Namco arcade games is over.

  • Sad news here.T_T I would really love to see some of the game there being reimagined but i do understand the reason here.

The chance for the game being profitable is just so small that most of us should know that the game won’t sell a lot here.

  • Never heard of it before until now; then again, I didn’t grow up with arcades. It looks like it would have been really fun to play, but ah well, no point in thinking the fish that got away is bigger.

  • Namuro

Aw man… I’d love to try out the game, it looks fun.

  • landlock

Dancing Eyes actually looked OK, I would have played it.

Even if it didn’t looked OK I would have played it. I love the original arcade game. ^_^……. gawd I am old…

  • sd28

i would have definatly played this so its to bad it got cancelled

  • Aww damn that actually looks like it would’ve been really nice to play >__> Meh….that’s really sad.

  • Spirit Macardi

Namco ignoring and screwing over their smaller, niche properties? Why that NEVER happens!

I was actually glad when Dancing Eyes was cancelled, since the last thing we need is another perv game. Aero Cross actually looked good though, and getting rid of the entire line altogether is a jerk move. Then again, Namco.

  • Valtiel Ikari

    looked great, sad it’s cancelled.
what I saw in the trailer was actually pretty awesome, could have been a great thing to play!
