Konami Is Only Making 1,000 Metal Gear Rising: Revengance Watches

By Spencer . December 10, 2012 . 1:55am

The rarest Metal Gear Rising swag might be these Metal Gear Rising: Revengance wristwatches from watchmaker Seiko.

The package includes one watch, a gold plate with an illustration from Metal Gear artist Yoji Shinkawa, and also a message card from Shinkawa. Konami will make 1,000 of these Metal Gear Rising wristwatches, which will be sold on Konamistyle for 36,750 yen ($445) and ship in mid-February.

  • Looks nice and stuff and I’m certain Seiko’s other models fall in line with the price but once it’s on your wrist nobody will distinguish it from “regular” watches. As they’re limited in number it’s a bloody shame that they don’t stand out as such.

Unless I see Raiden or someone actually don this slick watch, I ain’t interested. Shame that the only thing that shows “Metal Gear” is the battery cover.

Still thinking of getting these in one way or another. Peace Walker (Japanese Version) had some kickass product placements.

I have that Walkman. It’s pretty cute, but lacks the ubiquity of an iPod. It did come with a DL code for a soldier for PeaceWalker…

  • That’s about right for Seiko watch when they first get introduced.

Course I’m sure the scalpers will get it before you even get a chance and then make it publicly available at around double that cost.

  • Was so excited ’till I read the price.

    HOLY COW! :O

Can’t really believe there is a market for these things. But I guess some people just don’t know what to spend their money into.

If people have the extra money to spend on this kind of stuff, who are we to say whether that’s right or wrong? Now, if they don’t have the money and still buy it anyway, that’s another story…

If that back gold cover is gold, then I’m sold.
