SAO Infinity Moment

Namco Bandai shared more info regarding the partner system in their upcoming PSP title, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment.

Asuna, Leafa, Silica, Liz and Klein are some of the characters you can partner up with in Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment. You can even choose random characters walking around town to be your partner. There are more options since you play as Kirito and can decide on which routes to take, not being restricted within the original story.

Going on adventures and quests with your partners will develop stronger relationships, which can lead to closer friendships and even dating.

2012-12-14_003231 2012-12-14_003255

Kirito can have late night talks with Silica or go walks with Asuna.

2012-12-14_003347 2012-12-14_003419

Get to know your partners, as you communicate with them on and off the battlefield. You can take them out to parks or go for coffee. There are plenty of other activities out there, for you to enjoy with your partners.

Once you befriend a character, you’ll be able to register them as friends and exchange emails.

I really do hope Namco Bandai UK or US localise this game. Both because I’m a fan of SAO and because the game looks fun.

    • brian

Bamco wouldn’t, though I guess they may pass it on to XSEED since they have had a few licensing deals.
And even then, only digitally but besides that probably not a chance.

  • ResidentMetroid

It’d be cool if you could make your own character or be Klein instead, I just can’t stand Kirito.

    • Dylan Anantha

Pretty much why I don’t watch SAO, I can’t stand Kirito and Asuna, I love everyone else.

      • Raze

        Wait…Another Dylan?

I don’t really like Kirito and Asuna too..
        But still watch it…
You need to watch next Ep if you don’t like these 2 characters…Trust me…It will be fun *smirk*

        • Lol kinda ironic tht I am a fan of SAO…

I personally think Kirito and Asuna is fine if not a bit mary/gary sueish, but the comments is making me second guessing myself…..

          You horrible sadist!! /I kid.
But still, srsly Reki Kawahara? Do you need to resort to this??

          • neocatzon

I think Reki Kawahara is somehow a fan of NTR or cheating. The symptoms also showing up in Accel World XD

      • LynxAmali

And here lies my issue as well.

I like the supporting cast MUCH, MUCH more than I do the primary cast. I do like Kirito in Gun Gale though. That probably won’t get adapted for a while though.

      • MrTyrant

And here I was thinking that Siliconera was full of SAO fanboys. Glad to see people who thinks like me, not saying SAO is a bad show on the contrary it’s very good but neither the anime of the year or something like that.

        • AzuNo17

Disappointing maybe? Especially for the LN fans and the very concept of the story didn’t live up to what people expected, a dot HACK competitor. At least that’s what I read before this aired. Still an okay anime in its own right.

          • natchu96

It stopped being .hack-ish about one volume and 14 episodes in. Now they can log out fine. People still end up getting killed regardless in Phantom Bullet, but for totally different reasons . . .

That’s also the arc where his reflexes were fast enough to cut bullets out of the air and pwn in an FPS using only melee.

      • The opposite reason why I stopped watching sao, I like kirito and Asuna, but I can’t stand everyone else and the expanding harem.

    • Nitraion

Lol i can’t stand Kirito because he has to much swag, always win battle like God even though its MMO, chick magnet and like friendzoning girl…
Yep Klein is my bro …XD

      • neocatzon

I kinda agree. It’s not Kirito is someone that need to be hated. But, the author put too much plot armors and plot harems on him. I’ve reading through volume 2 and he’s have too many screentime and not many male characters. The author himself even apologized for this. Tl:dr the author needs more practice.

        • Boba Bob

          -It’s a harem anime.
-“too many screentime”? He’s the protagonist, the main character.
-“not many male characters”? While the series targets wide audiences, the dedicated fandom are the Otaku, the lesser the male characters the more the Otaku, resulting in more sales and success of the series, the Light novel is aleady one of the top sellers in history.

the author apologized for what? where did you read that?

          • The apologies is in the Afterwords.

          • neocatzon

What Dylan Ng said: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Sword_Art_Online:Volume_2_Author_Notes Yes, the Light Novel is a top seller followed by Accel World (he’s raking munny). Understandable, it’s fun and his world of choice is smart. SAO is also his debut works, which still have fault here and there for some reader. It’s admirable for him to accept his mistakes and good thing it’s getting better every release.

          • Boba Bob

If it’s the “plot armor hax” people are complaining about and want him to be badass on his own without the nakama hax plot crap, then that’s understandable, and i agree with it, but if they want him to be another bitchy wimp who has no backbone like half the harem animes (Kirito isn’t that much of a man either) then i still don’t get this dumb masochistic mentality some japanese have (and i mean no offense by that), the stronger and badasser the protagonist is, the more people will enjoy the show and look up to the protagonist, i see no reason for anyone to complain about how strong he is, that’s probably the only positive trait many people look for in male characters nowadays, i’m tired of see’ing wimps being protected by girls with magical powers and shit, i mean what kind of backwards logic crap is that? sometimes i feel silly for wondering why people consider japan and its population weird.

Plus that apology stuff you mention was back in Volume 2, that was a long while ago, see’ing as he didn’t change much about the characters from back then, and the sales are going strong, i’m assuming they like the series as it is.

    • Heropon Rikki

Kirito is worst main charater ever

    • Eilanzer

      please…read the light novel ^^
the anime don´t stand a chance compared to the novel!

      • I second this. I consider the LN a guide for the anime lol.

      • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Isnt the anime doing a better job as a narrative than the novels, which seemed to have quite a few pacing and plot hole issues for SAO arc and is causing the author to go back and fill those holes in?

        • Narrative wise, yeah.

But the amount of stuff tht the anime cut out in Aincrad arc is enormous…. EP2 have A LOT of things being cut out if you read the web novel or Progressive ver….

          • I stopped at episode 14 and wanted to continue, but you guys make me want to stop completely… Guess I’m sticking to HunterxHunter….

          • Oopsie. I should elaborate. ALO arc was actually adapted quite relatively faithful compare to SAO arc. It only got some minor detail/explanation cut out.

Abt the plot though, you have to decide for yourself to see if its OK for you…. Give it a few ep test….

          • I liked it, but if it isn’t faithful to the original, why bother? That’s what happened with Blue Exorcist. But since you tell me I should give the ALO arc a chance, I will.

    • Abhishek Posooa

      True story.
Because of Kirito, I won’t play this game.

No character creation was a huge letdown for me.

  • natchu96

If this glitch issue happens immediately after Floor 75 . . . we need a substitute for Kirito’s broken Dark Repulser . . . Elucidator won’t cut it for him by itself . . .

  • Nitraion

Lol there is new girl again..
    kirito’s harem expand….

    • Nee Nee

You’d scream if you ever knew the amount of girls he has right now(LN wise).

      • PoweredByHentai

I like the Cait Sith leader and Sakuya in Alfheim. They seem to be amusing guild leaders.

      • And frm a chat w/h AW and SAO LN reader it seems like Kirito haremmates exceed the one of Haru O__O Correct me if I am wrong, fellow LN reader.

  • fyi1191

We can date Klein as Kirito? WOW!

    • psycho_bandaid

not a yaoi fan, but this would be interesting since Klein had little screen time in the anime.

      • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Ton of screentime in Sword Art Offline.

    • Boba Bob

It was nowhere mentioned that you can date Klein, i’m assuming it’d be just like the persona games where you build a strong friendship with male characters and date female characters. there are male routes in visual novels too, it’s bromance at the most. they can’t risk it, that and SAO’s target demographic is obvious.

      • I’m pretty sure most of us are somewhat joking…..

  • miju

    Social link go.

    No Agil though?

    • Ferrick

      • WFoong

You start to sound like A HARO! o-o

        • miju

          AN HERO

  • So who is the pink-haired, purple wearing, sword wielding girl?

  • kroufonz

great i can ignore asuna go date with the other.girl!

now if only there is a way to bring sachi back.

    • Too bad Sachi is in F/E CCC ;)

  • Travis Nolen

for real am i the only one asking why the hell Leafa is in this??????

    • Shirogane Takeru

well, judging from the trailer, Lyfa encounters an anomaly/glitch in ALO and gets shunted into SAO

    • PoweredByHentai

There are more options since you play as Kirito and can decide on which routes to take, not being restricted within the original story.

      The article, read it.

  • Chrystofax

Hmmm? who the purple haired girl?

    • game exclusive character? dont think she was ever introduced in the novel.

    • Strea.

  • Alexandra Cordes

Wait, we can make him go for his sister who is better than Asuna in every single way?
    Count me the heck in.

  • Romored

    I’ll go for Silica & Lizbeth *^*

  • Crimson_Cloud

I’m not worried. Even if this isn’t localized, the anime is so popular that some of the more-experienced fans won’t stay still. ;)

  • Triplicity

    • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Klein is my first option, second would be Imouto.

  • Kaiser Giygas

Even it being strange I would date “small” just to see how it’ll be.

  • Wow Strea….. her boobs and sword is giving Leafa and Kirito Berserk Sword a run of its money…. ^.^|||

    • Nitraion

Lol you really have a Lot comment on SAO section XD….
I even have thump down for describing How i feel about kirito…
Is strea someone on future arc? just asking no spoiler

      • Lolyeah one of the rare moments you see me spam comments.

Try going to Random Curiosity and look up the SAO post…. Its a usual thing there…. Ignore the downvotes.

Nope. As far as I can remember she is created specifically for the game.

        • Nitraion

Wow really? how come you know her name then..
and I think there is more than enough girls already on original story…^^” i guess this the meaning of “Harem” concept

          • In the previous trailer, if you look closely to the background when they are introducing the girls you can see their english name.

  • Göran Isacson

I would complain that if this takes place after they’ve already conquered floor 75 then Kirito and Asuna should be a couple, but apparently this is some kind of AU so you can match Kirito up with whoever you fancy the most.

Of course that makes me wonder how Kirito managed to hang on since his relationship with Asuna became such a big part of him joining a guild and helping them all advance to the 75th dungeon, but eh- I guess he just got there because he’s just that good. Or something. Eh.

  • Setsuna ♥

Can we recreate Chapter 16.5 with his sister then ? They have my money if I can ~

  • The game may not see the light of the west shore but I hope we get a US dvd release soon. I’ve been watching the show and I really enjoy it. 1 more episode to go!

  • Hidayat246

    Yooo……. i can date with Lyfa-chan!!! ^0^

but cant date in middle-air just like in episode 23 T_T

  • Why are people compalining SAO that Kirito is a girlfriend magnet? and the expanding harem??? if you dont’ like either, you should stop because this series is obviously not for you…

If you are thinking SAO is a “serious” anime that’s has some artistic/moral value etc. then you are dead wrong… The author may be trying, but SAO is very much targeted toward the usual Otaku who likes ToLove Ru, or Oni-ai, or any harem anime ffs.

    • FirestoneX .

I enjoy (the few I’ve seen) harem animes, such as Rosario-Vampire and Highschool DxD. But I don’t want SAO to turn into one, as it is slowly doing. The show was like a breath of fresh air for me. It was so moving and emotional, and not like the recent slice of life/harem animes I have seen. It was special. Yui’s “death” about had me in tears.

SAO does not need to go into harem territory. I wished it would focus more on Kirito’s and Asuna’s relationship, which is by far the best part of the entire show.
