Report: Capcom Arcade Cabinet Bringing Retro Games To Current Consoles

By Spencer . December 17, 2012 . 1:38am

capcomPockett.net dug up cover art for Capcom Arcade Cabinet which appears to be a collection of Capcom arcade games for Xbox Live Arcade. Characters from Sonson, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Gunsmoke (maybe?), Trojan (the guy in front?), and one of the ships from Capcom’s 1942 shooting series appear to be in the montage.

While Capcom has not announced Capcom Arcade Cabinet, a trademark adds fuel to the rumor. Capcom Japan registered Capcom Arcade Cabinet in the U.S.A. on December 7.

Too bad Capcom doesn’t have the license for Dungeons & Dragons or Area 88 – the original name for U.N. Squadron – anymore. Those were some of Capcom’s best and rarest games.

That’s what we all said about Marvel, right?

So a HD collection of the Capcom Classics collection series?

    • neo_firenze

That’s what I’d expect. And by “HD” I would expect that to mean vertical letterboxing (maybe some arcade machine looking borders) with a filter or two. They aren’t doing new HD art for dozens of 80s-90s arcade games.

And worth mentioning that about half of the Capcom Classics collections was a compilation of the PSX/Saturn Capcom Generations 1-5 releases.

Oh well, I’ll STILL probably bite on this one. 90s Capcom is my crack.

Hey don´t forget Aliens Vs Predator ! That was so awesome back in the day *-* . And yeah Dungeons & Dragons…the first and second game made me poor after school haha.

Forgotten Worlds or Section-Z better be in there…

I hope they’ll add Armored Warrior, Cyberbots and TECH ROMANCER to the list. However, I’d prefer if they’d re-release the Dreamcast version. That said, I’d still buy the arcade version, but hopefully it has a save feature ’cause I really love to use Gourai!

I love both D&D games and AVP from Capcom, if only Capcom can get the rights….
