What the hay? Sony NA teased us back in like October with some US box art and now they announce it is going to be a digital release? NOT COOL. Besides, my memory card is already half full… Hopefully the publishers will release some sort of physical edition. :/

    • Digoth

yeah. i really don’t want to shell out the $80+ for a 32gb card. i would much prefer a physical release.

      • Testsubject909

Bandwidth limitations, slower loading speed from the memory card comparatively to the game cartridge, memory space.

I’ve been sticking with my initial 4GB memory card, and mainly shuffling around digital downloads between the PS3 and PC. The pouch I have has space for the physical games, so I could hold more physical games then I could digital. In terms of portability and ease of use, it’s actually far better for me to have the physical aspect as well.

Of course though, EDF is a niche game… I wasn’t expecting a physical format for it but damn was I hoping for one.

    • It’s 600 MB in size but the price for a digital-only title, a port of an old game to boot, is an audacity.

      • benhofb

Merph, yeah. I wouldn’t have a problem getting rid of 600 MB on my memory card, but damn. I am not shelling out 40 bucks for this as great as it is and knowing how much I wanted to play it. I dunno. The least they could do is some sort of limited release or something. Or sell the game through PSN for 20 bucks.

Is this the US release date or Japan?

    • benhofb

US. Japan already had a release quite awhile back. AND IT WAS PHYSICAL!

      • Marcelo Henrique Chaves

Oh, i see. Thanks 4 the info. Too bad we are not getting retail.

  • Ladius

Is there any news about an European PSN release?

    • Testsubject909

You know. Digital is usually meant to up sales. It probably does overall, but for me it’s been forcing my hand into double dipping or just encouraging me to import.

Lemme tell you, if the EU get a physical version of this game. I think I might just import and that’s it. Don’t got the space on my memory card and if the game ends up being over 1GB, I just won’t be able to make the space for it.

  • Testsubject909

Well… if it really is digital only. I’ll still get it. Just not asap.

I first need to get myself a memory card upgrade for my Vita, then I’ll start screaming EDF! EDF! EDF! on the go.

  • Wait… I thought there’s going to be a physical release?? Okay… seems like I can’t get this game then…

  • Alex Cattaneo

wait WHAT! damnit the eu better have it fysical..39,99 dollars digital WTF!

  • kactaplb

hmm. this or that newer vita edf game? first entry to series btw.

  • Elvick

    I don’t buy $39.99 digital only releases.

Nevermind the fact I have no space on my 4GB and Sony is being stubborn with the pricing of their memory cards. Drop ’em already. Sheesh…

Lost a sale from me. Unless it’s released somewhere else, in English, physical. I’ll consider importing then.
