Rumor: Onechanbara Z: Kagura Coming To Another Console In 2013

By Spencer . December 26, 2012 . 12:49am

onechaIn Japan, publishers send out Happy New Year cards and the one from D3Pubisher features Onechanbara Z: Kagura. That’s the Xbox 360 game where you play as a Romanian vampire named Kagura and former Onechanbara lead characters Aya and Saki are villains.

The New Year’s card says Onechanbara Z: Kagura is slated for a 2013 release, which is odd since the game came out for Xbox 360 in 2012. D3Pubisher is hinting at a port, which isn’t too surprising. Dream C Club was another Xbox 360 exclusive that appeared on PSP and finally on PlayStation 3 too. The question is what system(s) will we see Onechanbara Z: Kagura on? PlayStation 3? Vita? Wii U?

  • Koji Kabuto

I don´t mind the system if it´s region free.

    • Spider-Man

So either PS3/Vita. Since Wii U is region locked.

      • Hidayat246

No if u can hack your Wii U LOL

  • AzuNo17

    Add this to the Vita’s sexy lineup;

Monster Monpiece, DOA5+, Senran Kagura: SV, and Dragon’s Crown.

    • wait, I thought Vita is supposed to be a doomed, dying system. gotta love analysts and video game journalists. I’m just happy to finally see a steady stream of Japanese software coming to Vita. the Western situation still needs to improve but there are some high-profile games in development.

      • Mizu D

I wouldn’t said that are high profile games at all….they
are niche and catered to a few thousand select in Japan and even lesser outside
        of it.

Those games will be there to sustain the few millions who
own a system and nothing more.

The system is still way “doomer” than whatever the critic
predict about Nintendo devices since the GC era.

Western situation is in a dire/critical state.

Sony better whoop up some cream at E3 2013 or sooner as the
future is still bleak and niche.

        • I was talking about the Western high-profile games still in development. I would not call the likes of Killzone Mercenary “niche and catered to a few thousand select in Japan and even lesser outside”. I am sorry if you misunderstood my comment but I thought it was clear as I mentioned the Western situation at the onset of the sentence.

The Japanese games are obviously not intended for international release hence I pre-ordered all of them on and

  • ResidentMetroid

“Coming to… another console” for a second there, I thought it was coming overseas.

  • z_merquise

I really hope it’s ported to either Vita/PS3.

Having a cute and sexy samurai-vampire in a 2-piece bikini and cowboy hat with voice by Miyuki Sawashiro is hard to pass.

  • z_merquise

    How about this one?

It’s in Japanese but SNK-Playmore mentioned about Metal Slug for 2013.

  • d19xx

After EDF and Dream Club 360 games went to Vita, my money’s on the Vita of course. :)

  • Z3

This is probably going to be on the Vita or the WiiU

  • Go2hell66

after that english trailer i thought for sure we’d see it in english, but it was nowhere to be seen, hopefully we see this new port localised

  • Andrew Austin

The original release was pretty disappointing to be honest, but I might give it another chance if they fixed some issues/added some more content.

  • psycho_bandaid

I think it’ll go on another region-locked console just to troll fans.

  • Really hoping this makes it to the PS3 and gets a localization. I was kinda disappointed when the 360 version didn’t get a localization announcement. Onechanbara Z: Kagura looked really good and I wanted to play it. =^_^=

  • Rihawf

    Playstation 3 pls
but they will probably release on Vita.

  • Valtiel Ikari

Would be cool if there was either PS3 or Vita

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

This game is literally the only reason I’d need to get a 360 or borrow one. Please make it happen!

  • Bloodios

A port, eh? Given how baffling the performance of the original version was, I wonder how much more screen-tearing and slowdown this version is going to have…

    • Usually later ports resolve performance issues. All WiiU ports feature no screen-tearing at all despite running on UE3 which tears like a champ on PS360. NGS+ on Vita is v-synched at 30fps with adaptive resolution reduction once the action heats up during the more spectacular UTs (Lunar Staff is a case in point). There are exceptions of course (NMH: Heroes’ Paradise still tears like crazy on PS3) but generally the later ports handle very well indeed.

  • Nice. Whatever it’s on I hope it gets localized. Finding Bikini Samurai Squad for new at a reasonable price is impossible now.

  • YES YES YES. I no longer have to worry about ever buying a Japanese 360.

  • venomz09

long as it’s not just the wii u……i think it’s a safe bet it will be on the vita or ps3.

    can’t wait.

  • isfuturebright

Bring it to the Wii U please :)

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

Release it on the PS3 or Vita and you’ll make me very happy.

  • Nicholas Gatewood

I’m hoping for a Vita release, haha. If it doesn’t release in North America, eh, at least it isn’t region-locked like the Wii U.
