Digimon Adventure Trailers Show Off Customization And Digital Dungeons

By Laura . December 27, 2012 . 10:00am

Namco Bandai have shared two new trailers for the upcoming Digimon Adventure game. The first is about the Digital Dungeons, which are areas you can go into to train and fight strong monsters. It appears you can fight boss monsters here. The post-game all-season protagonist get-together also happens in one of these. Check the trailer out below:

The second is about raising your Digimon and shows how each Digimon has a unique Skill Panel and how to set DigiChips into the panels to increase stats and learn attacks. As the Digimon level up, their Skill Panel slowly expands. Here’s the trailer for that feature:

Digimon Adventure will be released January 17, 2013 in Japan.

    20 more dayssss

  • OatMatadoQuatro

    WarGreymon and MagnaAngemon!

    Also, the music from the second video brings back memories. I heard it’s actually based on a famous melody.

    • Bolero de Ravel. There’s a nice ballet you can Youtube up for.

      Not being one for the classics, I only realized this wasn’t a Digimon original when I heard the same song in Suda’s “Flower, Sun, and Rain.” I think it was the song playing in the hotel lobby…

      • Canceris

        I figured out that too myself when i heard it in the film Ten, and i can only remember that film because that.

      • Renaldi Saputra

        that Maurice Ravel’s Bolero

    • miotismon and megagaruruwolf were my favs

      • Renaldi Saputra

        u typed the wrong names :/

    Digimon!!! why you not come to america!!!!! gosh i miss digimon, it brings back the nostalgic memories of my wonderful childhood.

  • Lima99

    these games just make me want to cry when i think we will never see NA release

    • Renaldi Saputra

      yea it will never be, bcos it’s Bamco after all..
      but for english patch, I doubt it will never happen

  • While Digimon isn’t the top merchandising and popular monster breeding
    brand of a powerhouse, but it does has its signature and long lasting
    nostalgic quirk that stood the test of time. :)

    • Renaldi Saputra

      so what’s the top?? tamagotchi isn’t it??
      you better don’t say pokemon bcos pokemon isn’t a monster breeding thing..

      • Ryutto

        Pokemon IS a monster breeding game. Well at least the meta game has breeding as a huge part of it. To win against the “pros” you must breed the perfect Pokemon.

        • Renaldi Saputra

          is it?? hmm it sounds weird, or maybe my concept was wrong all this time..
          I thought a breeding game means you have to maintain your monster for example: giving food, cleaning poop, train them (the real training), and give them a rest.. not just leveling up..

  • Lester Paredes

    It’s sad that Digimon didn’t become half as wildly popular as Pokemon. I like the monster designs a lot better, as well as digi-volving mid-battle. I miss Impmon and his evolved form which was a bad-ass biker with a shotgun. Although, I wonder if that was just for the show… I wouldn’t mind a downloadable version, guys! Oh, I wish I could read Japanese.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      popular doesn’t always mean good or better, keep it in mind..
      who said it didn’t popular?? it does in japan, but yea it doesn’t really in outside japan..
      anw digimon anime had always rated way better than pokemon..

      • Elvick

        No, but popularity does means support.

        • Renaldi Saputra

          i see, you’re right.. Well as we can see, digimon games now are very very rarely come overseas when pokemon games always..
          but, still, the only important thing is being good and nostalgic.. that’s it

          • Elvick

            Because being able to play in a language you understand isn’t important at all…

          • Renaldi Saputra

            bcos feeling is the universal language..

      • Lester Paredes

        Yeah, I know it’s popular. I should have specified ‘in America’. I really liked it and played through some of their PSone games. I thought they were great, though I might have been a bit biased. I do wish it was more popular here, because if there’s one thing that the PSP and Vita need here is a Pokemon like game. I mean, you could say that Persona fills part of that niche, what with collection all the differing Personas, but it’s not exactly kid friendly.

  • Renaldi Saputra

    ultimate evolution for the rest of prota in DA have been announced
    From what I saw:
    AlturKabuterimon -> HerakleKabuterimon
    Garudamon -> Hououmon
    Zudomon -> Vikemon
    Lilymon -> Rosemon
    HolyAngemon -> Seraphimon
    Angewomon -> Ophanimon

    it’s kinda surprising that Angewomon didn’t become Holydramon related to the 3rd movie (Hurricane Touchdown), but it become Ophanimon instead..

    • OatMatadoQuatro

      Man if Angemon already had Ultimate force as a Champion and HolyAngemon had Mega force as an Ultimate then the universe will explode with Seraphimon

      At least Angewomon stopped having identity issues. I mean it first was a puppy, then a cat, then an angel and then a holy dragon. XD

      • Renaldi Saputra

        unfortunately Seraphimon always become Bad Luck Brian in the series and manga..
        Ophanimon had already shown in Frontier

  • Renaldi Saputra

    i don’t know if this is an hoax or not..
    Digimon will have a new anime project in 2013.. it’s said that the anime will be based on the legendary V-Tamer 01 Manga..

    • Oh, I hope this is true. It’ll be good to hear Toshiko Fujita doing Taichi again as a full character in TV after these many years~!

      • Renaldi Saputra

        she’s now very busy I think..
        she had spent 70 hours for voice recording for Digimon Adventure RPG, then if this is true, she will spend more time as Taichi once again

        • Bad news… That scan is a clever made fake. :c

          • Renaldi Saputra

            i see, so that’s clearly a hoax.. yep I recently read it..
            they trolled in order to make us surprise..

            the edit was very clever, even I didn’t expect any awkwardness in it..
            but well, Taichi in V-tamer has bigger body posture and a little different face

    • OatMatadoQuatro

      I hope that TV series also adapts the crossovers it had with other Digimon series.
