Fairy Tail Creator Made Gear For Monster Hunter 4

imageHiro Mashima has worked on a bunch of different manga series like Rave Master and believe it or not a Monster Hunter manga. Monster Hunter Orage was a shonen style manga where you followed Shiki’s adventures as he hunts the Myo Galuna. I think Mashima’s most well known work is Fairy Tail which still has an anime running in Japan.

Mashima is contributing the Monster Hunter universe again by designing equipment for Monster Hunter 4.

Monster Hunter 4 comes out in summer 2013 for Nintendo 3DS.

  • You mean no clothes .-.

  • Nee Nee

So is that a guy or a girl in the picture? I have trouble figuring it out.

  • shion16

So girls go hunt giant monsters with that……a bikini doesnt look very useful to defend against tigrex claws

  • jugun

    Yes looks so boss

  • Spirit Macardi

I’m hoping this will lead to a blue Felyne with a penchant for saying “Aye!”

    • venomryu

  • ragingmerifes

I’d be happier to see someone like Eiichiro Oda doing it, but anyway.

    • puchinri

That would be magical. But I guess they chose Mashima because of Orage?
It’d be awesome to see Miura doing the armor. Oh, yeah~.

  • zephyrsword

I’m going to have fun with my re-equip magic in this game.

  • Minos

If this means I will be able to play with some of Erzas’s armors I will buy the hell out of this game.

    • J_Joestar

      Seduction Armor would be lol.

  • So Erza’s armors, Natsu’s scarf and Grey’s underpants?

  • Shadowman

That is so awesome!! I wouldn’t mind Natsu scarf and maybe one of Erza swords

  • konsama

I like those dual swords, but the armor, is not bad, but…

Monster Hunter Orage was what inspired me to try out Monster Hunter Tri in the first place.
Unfortunately, Tri didn’t give me the same sense of adventure and gave me long periods of grinding for weapons and armor.
MH4, according to Capcom, has more of an adventure, but I have my doubts.

    • Monster Hunter has always been a bit grindy (or VERY grindy, if you’re a completionist). I doubt it’s going to change. Fighting the same monsters over and over for materials is part of the game’s long-lasting appeal.

  • kazdamaz

The male looks cool but the female looks a little weird, probably because the author is used to character having DD bursting out of their clothes rather than the most streamline ladies in the MH universe.

I also thought in an interview in the illustrations book devs said no magic in monster hunter lol

  • Remember Orage, i don’t think mashima will make good MH Armor design despite being a good Shonen mangaka.

that being said, if MH ever had wind elemental Dual Sword i bet Mashima had something to do with it.

  • Boy the design is really wasted on flatchest, looks super bad :/ In comparison it looks much better in the manga art.

    • ddh819

is that adjustable in the game?

  • Crimson_Cloud

Be ready for a lot of nakama power-ups.

  • greyheart

is it just me or the blade behind the male character looks like fairy tail’s emblem?

  • BloodTorrent

well, now i have to buy a 3DS (yes, this is what convinced me i want MH4… problem?)
