Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment’s Intimate Moments

By Spencer . January 9, 2013 . 2:32pm

Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment plays like a massively multiplayer offline RPG. The PSP game has computer controlled characters you can invite to join you on quests. There are a number of "players" waiting for Kirito in the town square.

Dengeki Online reports Kirito can build bonds with various heroines during event scenes. There are special intimate events like this nighttime stroll with Asuna. You can see these if your relationship is deep enough.

Namco Bandai put together a sizable incentive to get Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment at launch. First print copies include a reversible cover, a code to download ten PSP themes, and a code that gives Asuna a swimsuit.

Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment comes out on March 14 for PSP.

I would like it better if we could just create a character and live in SAO’s world. I have no empathy for Kirito.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

I didn’t watch/read SAO, is he that bad? Though I find this face amusing

      • xXDGFXx

Everyone found that face amusing. When the preview came out, this was all I saw being talked about.

      • seyEliveD

I didn’t find him bad at all … in fact, it’s one of my favorite animes (Asuna FTW).

      • Göran Isacson

Having watched it, Iiii… don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other.

There were many other things about the show that drew my attention that I honestly never really made a report with Kirito. Make no mistake, a LOT of him seems to be wishfulfillment. He get’s all the girls hot and bothered and is the baddest of bad-asses who can and does beat everyone in his path and so doesn’t really have that many challenges or real set-backs that makes you feel for him, doesn’t really act very smart in the second half of the show which leads to some real groaner moments…

BUt on the other hand it’s not like he has an utterly reprehensible personality, at least not that I can recall. He’s just a kinda chill dude, stays focused on his girlfriend and doesn’t flirt around or spaz out whenever he sees other girls offering their pantsu and kokoros, doesn’t do anything that is super-annoying up until the second half of the season…

I guess that on the whole, he suffers from just being THERE, you know? He’s a decent dude. Nothing offensive about him, but nothing that really draws you in either? He’s not funny or GAR like Kamina, not intelligent and charismatic like Lelouch (sorry if you’ve never seen those shows, I’m just pulling examples out of my head right now), not chill and cool like Spike Spiegel, not charmingly flawed like Gene Starwind, not lovably innocent and spirited like Luffy or Alladin or stoically badass like Guts… he’s just kinda there. He’s a hero. He’s your typical hero that’s NOT a totally wussy harem-hero, but a REGULAR typical hero and there’s really not that much else to him. Nothing to hate, nothing to really like.

        • MrSirFeatherFang

The only one I’m not familiar with is Alladin, which I think is from Magi? Thanks for the info though

          • Göran Isacson

Exactly, Alladin is from Magi. I suppose that in short I can say that the first half of the show does some pretty interesting things but isn’t anything special- decent if you’re just looking for something to watch and be entertained by, and the second half tries to make the story more focused on personal relationships only to fumble the execution. I wouldn’t say I regret watching it, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must-see by any stretch of the imagination. See it if you feel like it and have the time, pretty much.

        • WingsOfEternity

I just finished the first arc and I totally agree, he just almost seems like a typical JRPG protagonist and lacks depth. It’s also bit awkward to see him basically one-shot (not exaggerating) every enemy he encounters

          • Tht probably due to the lack of monologue in the anime. I don’t feel tht problem while reading the LN. Don’t quote me on this though.

          • Göran Isacson

Huh, that could be the case. Kirito could be one of those characters who get more engaging if I can see what goes on in his head, because I never really felt like I got a personal connection to him. Maybe the LN could help, maybe not. I’m willing to at least acknowledge the possibility that it COULD help.

          • Göran Isacson

I admit that some parts of the first arc were somewhat interesting, such as when he lost his first guild and wasn’t mister Invincible all the time.

Paradoxically, the shows strength in the first arc also feels like a weakness in some ways. The BIG jumps in time allows the show to cover a lot of interesting ground and strange situations that can occur in an MMO-world, but I also felt like I never really connected to any of the one-shot characters, they just didn’t have the time to really develop. And Kirito who DID have time to develop… well. He never developed into something I found interesting :|

      • Kirito makes the best reaction faces XD

Majority of the complain come frm him being too Gary Stu and wht Goran said. He does have some sh*t being thrown to him though like Asuna saving him *$$ in one episode. Personally I am cool with him. At least he doesn’t annoy me the way SHOE does….. And I watch anime for entertainment not analysing it.

        • Göran Isacson

Out of curiosity- who or what is SHOE? Nickname for another shows protagonist, or an acronym of some sort?

          • Guilty Crown MC Ouma Shu nickname.

          • Göran Isacson

ooh, I’ve heard of Guilty Crown… nnnot good things, most of the time. “Interesting train wreck” was the kindest review I could find, pretty much.

          • old reply is old from me, but yeah, shoe sucked, the whole show was basically “Great expectations that were never fulfilled”

    • MrTyrant

      This! that would be awesome.

    • Crimson_Cloud

I would really love that JRPG genre steps into the character creation waters and gives us level of freedom often find in korean mmorpgs. :)

  • shion16

I was joking with the incest system…

    • RaikageV

      Now it’s too late.

    • LynxAmali

      I warned you.

    • They are not siblings though. Kissing cousins are OK at Japan.

  • “Two years worth of semen made a glopping noise as it flowed endlessly into Asuna.” – SAO Volume 1

    • MrTyrant

      It’s that a new doujinshi? D:

      • No, it’s from the light novel.

        • MrSirFeatherFang

Wow, they must of gotten it on HARDCORE. Unfortunately not interested in SAO as of right now.
edit: wait a minute… she didn’t get pregnant, did she? As expected of… all H-manga and anime and I guess novels now too

          • They were in the game.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

I expect 2 years worth of semen to impregnate several hundreds of women in real life. Now you are telling me she couldn’t even get pregnant with that amount of semen in the game? I guess Kirito needed to *ahem* save up for a few more years.

          • The fact that they were in the game is possibly the biggest obstacle that kept Asuna from becoming pregnant, in case you didn’t know.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

Seems like I didn’t make it clear, I meant getting pregnant in the game lol

          • -_- Read previous comment.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

So it’s not possible in the game is what you’re saying… hmm strange game indeed

          • Kevadu

I think a game in which you could get pregnant would be much stranger…

          • Minos

They had virtual “Sex”, they did it on the video game , so, they are actually still virgins.

          • MrTyrant

Must be an awesome game then xD

          • MrSirFeatherFang

But she still didn’t get pregnant in the game, right? :D

        • 猫 黒

I looked it up and apparently it’s not official. It’s a fan-written side story that was posted on the website, not canon. Chapter 16.5, in case anyone’s interested.

    • evilmoogle

Meanwhile in real life, wet pants.

Btw, I don’t think it’s real, the infamous chapter 16.5.

      • Guest

Back when the novels were still published online (they were originally web novels), it was there. Due to sexual content it was taken out once it went to print and other media. You won’t be able to find anything except for an unpublished side story on Kawahara’s blog these days.

As it seems my hope for Sachi is dead, I will just enjoy my time with loli of the year lol,

  • Göran Isacson

    But what about SANDWHICH-KUN?

  • Unless those Random NPC have damn good stuff, I will be bringing my party of harems to dungeon crawling XD

  • I wonder how hard this will be to play in Japanese. I think I’ll try it out either way. I’m hoping it has a lot of combat and that it is really fun.
